Robert Sugden welcomes a mystery visitor…

Last week we saw Robert receive a mystery text. This week there is a mystery man in Emmerdale village, asking for directions. Robert is soon stunned to answer a knock at the door to a familiar face. Checking no-one on the street is watching, he allows the mystery man in. This mystery man is clearly an acquaintance from prison.

Victoria walks in and sees Robert holding hands with a man who isn’t Aaron. She’s confused. After finally getting rid of him, Robert knows he’s in for a grilling from his sister.

Thomas’ adoption causes a nervous reaction…

Vinny’s nervous about Thomas accepting him as his new dad and is secretly terrified about testifying in court against Mike, fearing it could destroy his family. When he learns the defence plans to call Gabby as a witness, he lies about what the court case involves. Unable to tell Gabby the truth, Vinny pulls out as a witness to protect his marriage.

Kim initially opposes Thomas’ adoption, saying it would erase Jamie from his life, but Vinny and Mandy convince her how much having a dad will mean to Thomas. Their celebration over the adoption is cut short for Vinny when Mike arrives in the village, inserting himself into Vinny’s life and demanding Gabby’s money as compensation. In desperation, Vinny makes a deal – if Mike keeps Gabby out of it, he’ll testify and destroy the prosecution’s case.

Vinny heads to court…

Unbeknownst to Mike, Vinny’s got a plan to rid himself of Mike forever – he’s going to tell the truth in court. In the lead-up to the court case, Gabby becomes suspicious of Vinny’s lies about the court case and gives him a chance to be honest, but he only digs deeper. Laurel reminds Gabby she’s got a guilty secret of her own.

Soon, Vinny heads into court to face the man who terrorised him. Much to Mike’s chagrin, Vinny begins to stand up to him in court. But starts to panic when he sees Gabby enter the public gallery and fix him with a challenging stare just as he’s about to admit to first encountering Mike on a forum for people questioning their sexuality. Will Vinny be able to proceed?

Leo is rushed to hospital…

April’s guilt spirals as she juggles her double life to hide her drug dealing from Rhona. When Dylan catches her selling drugs outside university halls, he’s shocked. Desperate to protect April, Dylan begs Ray to let her quit, but Ray manipulates him with emotional blackmail before promising to face the “big bosses” himself. Dylan agrees to let April keep dealing. At least this way, they pay their debts off quicker. April’s double life crumbles when, whilst babysitting Leo, she abandons Leo to meet Ray’s demands, accidentally dropping pills from her bag as she leaves the house.

Her worst nightmare unfolds when she returns home to find Leo being loaded into an ambulance. At the hospital, with police and social services having been contacted, Rhona suspects April immediately. Just as April considers confessing, she spots police officers and flees in panic. Meanwhile, Ray’s empire threatens to collapse when he overhears April telling Dylan she’s ready to tell the truth…

Elsewhere in the village…

Celia scares Paddy with a cruel joke about his dog attack. Moira tells her she needs to fix things. Soon, Celia charms Paddy into forgiving her. Aaron feels guilty for forgetting that today is Grace’s birthday. An attempt to pick up Celia is fatal for Bob’s aura. Charity hides her guilt about the baby around Sarah. Mack queries her behaviour, asking Charity if she’s worried Sarah’s getting too excited. Charity swiftly changes the subject.
