Emmerdale has once again left viewers on the edge of their seats. Viewers of the ITV soap have been speculating about the fate of Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) following another dramatic cliffhanger in John Sugden’s sinister storyline.

Mack managed a daring escape from the underground bunker this week after spending several days in John’s grip, but his freedom was short-lived when the cunning villain caught up with him.

However, just as Mack was on the brink of freedom, John wasn’t far behind, cruelly cutting his escape short. But the nightmare escalated when John appeared wielding an axe.

Helpless on the ground, Mack’s eyes widened in terror as he spotted the weapon and John sinisterly walking towards him. Chillingly, John declared he had “helped Aaron like he said he would” before edging closer to his victim.

The suspense continues in Friday’s Emmerdale episode tonight, September 5 with another instalment largely centred around the John saga. It’s available for early streaming now on ITVX, before its broadcast on ITV1 later on tonight.
