‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Erika Slezak Thanks GH Fans In Sweet Message And Exits The Soap As We Say Goodbye To Veronica Bard
‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal that Erika Slezak exitsfrom playing the role of Monica Quartermaine’s(Leslie Charleson) long-lost sister, Veronica Bard, this week.
We adored Slezak’s portrayal of Ronnie, as Slezak proved once again that she’s a powerhouse actress, worthy of a Daytime Emmy for her guest-starring role on GH.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Slezak And Elliot Were Soap Gold
A theater-trained actress, Slezak showed off her considerable talent, and from the moment she made her first on-screen appearance on GH on September 26th, we knew she was the perfect short-term addition to the cast.
She made us feel for Ronnie, despite the audience knowing full well that the characterwas well aware she was in on some scam and did not, in fact, inherit the Quartermaine mansion.
The actress showed up, blew everyone away, and definitely did not disappoint. Plus, the chemistry between Slezak and Jane Elliot, who plays the formidable Tracy Quartermaine, was palpable.
As two people who loved Monica but had different ideas about family, their feud was inevitable. Now, to mention, how entertaining it was to see these two soap legends go head-to-head.
Slezak began on the now-defunct soap opera One Life to Live in 1971. She played Victoria Lord on OLTL. Viki also had a rival named Dorian Lord (Robin Strasser).
Their competitiveness was one of the most memorable rivalries in soap opera history. GH was wise to use the same formula when pairing Slezak and Elliot.
Elliot started on GH as Tracy Quartermaine in 1978. Her famous feud was originally with Monica, but over time, their relationship softened, and the two grew to love each other as family.
We would love to see that happen between Ronnie and Tracy. We hope the actress returns to play Ronnie once again and that the Quartermaine family can be whole again.
