Emmerdale is absolutely packed to the brim with twists and turns lately – honestly, we still hadn’t recovered from yesterday’s rollercoaster of events!

In case you missed it, Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) finally encouraged April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) to open up about her struggles.

In emotional scenes, she came clean about her ordeal at the hands of Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths) and Ray Walters (Joe Absolom) and the man she killed in self-defence when he tried to rape her.

Naturally, Marlon’s first instinct was to protect his daughter, so he decided to confront Ray – a decision which had fatal consequences when Ray pulled out a gun and shot Marlon.

We struggled to scrape our jaws off the floor as Marlon died in front of our eyes, only to be hit by a wave of sheer relief when the whole thing was revealed to have happened in April’s imagination.

Unfortunately, that meant that Marlon still had no idea about what she was going through, leaving her trapped in her situation with Celia and Ray.

In tonight’s episode, we saw the aftermath of April’s decision to stay quiet about her ordeal, and it certainly felt ominous.

Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) was clearly worried about April, but she continued to keep him at arm’s length.

It wasn’t long before Ray suggested that she get away for a while, sending her to Newcastle on a job.

However, that wasn’t the end of the story, as there was another massive twist ahead.

While we won’t give away the details, we can tell you that we were shocked by the sudden appearance of a character we believed to be dead!

What’s more, Ray made it clear that April wouldn’t be causing any more trouble… What does he have planned?

Is her trip to Newcastle set to be more than just another drug deal? Could she be set to find herself in even more danger?
