Who Did Gary James Fuller Audition for on General Hospital?
Gary shared a funny bit of history about how he first tried to land a role on GH. “When I was like five or six, I auditioned for the part of Wiley, and I didn’t get that part,” he recalled. “But then, like two years later, I got the audition for the part of James—and I obviously got that.” He even remembers how fast it all happened: “Before we even left the parking lot, my agent told me that I booked it.”
The young star also talked about one of the biggest acting challenges he’s faced so far—filming the scene where James falls into the lake. He explained it was hard because he had never been underwater with normal clothes on before.
Now 10 years old, Gary has been acting nearly his entire life. He got his start at just two years old in a commercial for a LeapFrog stuffed dog called My Pal Scout.
When he’s not acting, Gary stays active on the baseball field, where he plays pitcher, catcher, and shortstop—though he admits catcher is his favorite position. And when he’s not at the ballpark, you might find him behind the wheel, as he’s also passionate about junior drag racing.
As for how his friends feel about his TV career? Gary says they think it’s “really cool” that he works on television.
