Why isn’t Emmerdale on tonight? ITV schedule shake-up confirmed after flashback twist
The ITV soap won’t be in its usual slot on Thursday evening, following on from Robert and Kev’s special episode
ITV has announced a shake-up in its usual schedule, with Emmerdale not airing on Thursday evening (November 13).
The beloved soap usually airs on weekdays at 7:30 pm, including an hour-long special on Thursdays.
However, Emmerdale won’t be making its usual appearance tonight, as ITV will instead broadcast the FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifier between England and Serbia, kicking off at 7:45pm.
Football fans can tune in to watch the match from Wembley Stadium from 7pm until 10:05 pm, followed by ITV News at Ten until 10:33pm.
Fear not, Emmerdale devotees, as the soap is set to return to its regular slot on Friday night, reports the Daily Star.

Wednesday’s episode was a rollercoaster ride for viewers, featuring flashbacks of Robert Sugden’s (Ryan Hawley) time in prison and his backstory with husband, Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill).
These flashbacks delved into Robert’s six-year stretch behind bars, where he was serving a 14-year sentence for the murder of Lee Posner (Kris Mochrie), revealing the truth about what happened while he was incarcerated.
Robert received a visit from the late Faith Dingle (Sally Dexter), who implored him to mend his relationship with her grandson, Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller).

Faith revealed that she was terminally ill after ceasing all cancer treatment, and urged Robert to seek release after new evidence suggested that Lee could have died from a brain injury inflicted by his brother.
Faith then encouraged Robert to reach out to Aaron and bring him back to the village, as Robert confessed his enduring love for Aaron.
In a parallel storyline, Kev shared a secret with Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson), revealing he has a son from a fleeting encounter with a woman named Emma, who was tragically murdered years ago.
Unbeknownst to Robert, his husband is a father, adding another layer of deceit to their relationship. Kev also pleaded with Liam to keep quiet about his non-terminal heart condition.
As the episode drew to a close, Kev pieced together that Robert had deceived him about his sister Victoria’s (Isabel Hodgins) brain tumour while applying for parole, which he was granted earlier this year.
What will unhinged Kev do when he discovers the truth about Victoria?
