Robert Sugden chose to dump husband Kev during the latest ITV installment

Emmerdale fans were in agreement as they worried for Robert Sugden following his decision to split with Kev Townsend.Actor Ryan Hawley reprised his role as Robert Sugden earlier this year where he was first seen trying to put a stop to Aaron Dingle marrying his half-brother, John Sugden.

Until that moment, he had been absent from the Dales for six years following his prison sentence over the death of Lee Posner.

The slow-burn of Robron continued for some time as Aaron pledged his loyalty to John – a choice that came with huge consequences in the end.

John fled the village after his harrowing crimes were exposed – including the murder of Nate Robinson, keeping Mackenzie Boyd as a hostage, and throwing himself and Aaron over the edge of a cliff.

Since then, Aaron became determined to get things back on track with Robert, a plan that was soon foiled when Kev Townsend arrived on the scene.

Introducing himself as Robert’s husband, he had a lot of explaining to do. Robert felt conflicted after Kev told him he had months left to live – a story viewers now know is a lie.

After renewing his vows with Kev to make him happy, Aaron was determined to win him back, and he succeeded. While the pair keep the relationship under wraps for now, Robert had one last thing to do.

On Friday’s (November 14) episode, Robert decided enough was enough as he broke things off with Kev for the love of his life, Aaron.

Of course, Kev didn’t take things well. He told Robert: “We renewed our vows a few days ago. I thought you were happy”. He then asked if something was going on with Aaron to which Robert vehemently denied.

Kev then stormed out to get some air, and before the episode ended he was seen in tears, pinging the elastic band on his wrist out of frustration.

Viewers are now concerned that Kev will continue to spiral and harm either Robert or Aaron.

On X (formerly known as Twitter), @ryansoapking25 wrote: “Fantastic #Robron scenes tonight as well although I’m worried about what Kev is going to do to either Robert or Aaron now Robert’s called things off with Kev”

@lornawatts added: “Kev is 100% going to spiral out of control” as @cossalltheway penned: “He’s a loose canon and I was so afraid for Robert right then..”
