Emmerdale fans ‘rumble’ who will be charged with robbery and it’s not Kev

Emmerdale fans are convinced that Kev Townsend will not be sent to prison after he was exposed as a liar and a thief.

Emmerdale has hinted at Kev Townsend’s departure after his recent involvement in an armed robbery, but fans aren’t convinced he’ll end up behind bars.

‘I actually told Isabel it’s positive’ Isabel Hodgins and Adam Whitehead share their baby news

As regular viewers of the ITV soap will know, Kev (played by Chris Coghill) arrived in the village hoping to rekindle his love affair with husband Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley).

However, it quickly became apparent that their relationship wasn’t meant to be as Robert began a clandestine romance with ex-husband Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller). Kev has been leading Robert to believe he is both wealthy and terminally ill in an attempt to keep him close.

The former convict also committed an armed robbery to maintain his cash flow and provide Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) with funds to support their farming business.

On Tuesday (25 November), Robert and Aaron hatched a plan to report Kev to the police and have him returned to prison so they can live together peacefully.

Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) discovered her son Aaron and Robert together and warned them of the danger they would face if Kev found out, according to the Daily Star.

Robert soon admitted they are back together and informed Chas about their plot to turn Kev in to the police. However, their conversation was abruptly interrupted by Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) with alarming news.

The doctor confessed that Kev had duped him into acting as his getaway driver following the robbery, and he, too, will face charges if Kev is reported to the police.

Liam also dropped the shocking news that Kev’s condition isn’t terminal and he isn’t on his deathbed. The revelation left Aaron shell-shocked, while Robert was left spinning.

In a quest to uncover Kev’s hidden stash of cash and nicked goods, Aaron started tailing him around the village, observing as he made his way into the church.

It came to light that Kev had been stashing the pilfered items inside the church, and Aaron quickly twigged there was enough proof to pin Kev as guilty.

However, sharp-eyed Emmerdale fans were quick to note that Aaron had handled the stolen goods without gloves, which could potentially make him a suspect in the armed robbery. Will Kev point the finger at Aaron for the crime and get him sent down?

Taking to X, one viewer posted: “#Emmerdale yes Aaron put your fingerprints all over bag (shocked face).”

Another commented: “As if you’d root through a bag of SWAG with your bare hands ffs #Emmerdale.”

A third joined in: “Would be hilarious if Aaron gets done for it #Emmerdale (laughing face).”

While one fan queried: “AARON WHY DID YOU TOUCH IT? #Emmerdale.”

“So that makes Aaron’s fingerprints on Kev’s loot. And Robert already touched it when he found out. They really are stupid #emmerdale,” another pointed out.

Emmerdale airs weekdays on ITV and ITVX
