Emmerdale Kev’s soap future ‘revealed’ after abrupt exit in sword attack horror
Fans think they have worked out if Kev in Emmerdale is leaving the ITV soap for good, after actor Chris Coghill appeared to bow out of the role after a sword showdown with Robron
Kev appeared to leave Emmerdale for good on Thursday night, with a showdown with Robron leading to him fleeing.
Chris Coghill’s character was never thought to be staying on the show for good, amid recent reports that the show is keen to bring him back. But Thursday’s episode of the ITV soap left fans wondering about Kev’s soap future, and if he was really gone.
Kev found out his husband Robert Sugden was back with his soulmate Aaron Dingle, amid him being exposed over the armed robbery and his lie about his not-so terminal illness. Things took a dramatic turn though when Kev headed to Aaron’s flat, where Robert was.

Once he realised the duo were together he lashed out, and soon Liam Cavanagh was trapped too. Aaron initially tried to talk Kev round, but Aaron soon had enough and told him what was what.
Kev began swinging a samurai sword around, which he’d stolen in the robbery. Wanting revenge on Aaron, Kev went at him but ended up injuring Robert’s arm with the blade.

Not long after it was Aaron who was knocked to the floor and hit in the stomach as Kev continued to throw the sword around. Eventually Kev did flee, not before a final chat with his secret son Lewis Barton.
Trying to get way knowing the police would be after him, and not wanting to go back to prison, he decided it was time to go. He gave Lewis some advice about people who claimed to change but hadn’t, while he declined to let him know that he was his biological father.
But has Kev really gone? It seems so, amid recent claims he’d finished filming. Friday’s episode will shed more light on Kev’s fate, but fans think they’ve worked out a return for him already, not convinced he’s gone for good.
Fans believe the storyline with Lewis would not have kicked off only for it to end so abruptly. Now, fans think this will be how Kev comes back to the show at some point, despite his drama with Robron.
One fan said: “Given Kev is Lewis’s father I don’t think tonight is the last we’ll see of him.” Another fan said: “Do you really think this Kev SL is over?”
Other fans pleaded with the show to bring him back, but wanting a storyline with Lewis and Claudette Anderson, not Robron. A fan said: “Bring him back for Lewis and Clauds,” as another agreed: “Bring Kev back!”
A further fan said: “I think Kev has been the best new character for a long time and he must definitely come back.” Another fan posted: “Yes please bring him back. This would be a really good story.”
