An Emmerdale murderer made a surprise appearance on Monday evening, hinting at a potential soap comeback if circumstances align. Paige Sandhu appeared on ITV’s The Big Quiz, where cast members from Coronation Street and Emmerdale competed through various questions and challenges. During a nostalgic segment featuring past characters, actress Paige was among those highlighted.

She portrayed the deadly Meena on the ITV drama from 2020 to 2022, with the villain currently behind bars. Viewers have persistently campaigned for her return, and now actress Paige has dropped hints about the possibility, including revealing her first target. Moreover, her former colleague Lucy Pargeter, who portrays Chas Dingle, also endorsed the idea of her comeback. Paige revealed to presenter Stephen Mulhern: “It was so fulfilling, so fun, and working with these guys was amazing. That’s all I can say.”

Lucy then added: “She was absolutely amazing. Seeing those clips there, she needs to come back.”

Meena murdered Leanna Cavanagh, Andrea Tate, Ben Tucker and her own father, plus a mate called Nadine. She attempted to eliminate her sister Manpreet Sharma, Liam Cavanagh, Vinny Dingle, Victoria Sugden, Dawn Taylor and Billy Fletcher, whilst also shooting Leyla Harding.

However, Meena may have outstanding scores to settle, as Paige revealed her priority target upon any return. Without hesitation, she declared: “Manpreet. Straight for Manpreet.”

Fans were quick to comment about the prospect of Meena’s comeback, with one writing on X: “Meena was an iconic villain. Becky Swain, take note!” A second added: “Meena is my fave soap villain ever, unbelievably camp I bloody loved her!” A third said: “She was an amazing psycho villain. I don’t think she can ever be topped.”

In related news, the programme also teased a Corriedale preview, setting the stage for a dramatic crossover between Corrie and Emmerdale next month.

A catastrophic pile-up is set to bring these worlds together, with lives hanging in the balance.

Before the trailer’s release, characters confirmed to be involved included Lisa Swain, Aaron Dingle, David Platt, and Liam Cavanagh. Now, a host of additional characters have been unveiled.

Corrie enthusiasts can look forward to appearances from Abi and Kevin Webster, Kit Green, Carla Connor, and Asha Alahan, with Debbie Webster hinted to be in potential danger. Meanwhile, Emmerdale will feature Charity Dingle, Cain Dingle, Jacob Gallagher, Robert Sugden, and Joe Tate.
