ITV has released the broadcast schedule for Emmerdale and Coronation Street during the festive week. The holiday season often brings about changes in programming as channels jostle to fit in their Christmas specials.
Regular viewers of Coronation Street typically tune in on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 8pm, while Emmerdale fans catch the show on weekdays at 7.30pm. This week’s timings have been officially confirmed on the respective Instagram accounts of both soaps. On Monday, 22 December, Emmerdale will be on from 7.30pm to 8pm, followed by Coronation Street from 8pm to 9pm. On Tuesday, 23 December, Emmerdale will air from 7pm to 7.30pm.
For Christmas Eve, 24 December, Emmerdale will run from 6.55pm to 7.25pm, with Coronation Street following at 8.40pm until 9.10pm.
Christmas Day, 25 December, promises an hour-long episode full of drama and excitement for each soap. Emmerdale will air from 6.15pm to 7.15pm, and Coronation Street from 7pm to 7.30pm, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Boxing Day, 26 December, sees Emmerdale airing from 6.30pm to 7pm, and Coronation Street from 7pm to 7.30pm. Fans can also stream episodes on ITVX and YouTube on the same day they are broadcast on TV.

ITV has unveiled an exciting teaser on YouTube ahead of the launch of “Corriedale”. Earlier this year, soap producers announced a thrilling hour-long special that will see the worlds of both soaps merge.
The episode is scheduled to broadcast on Monday, 5 January at 8pm. This unique broadcast will create a landmark moment in soap history as the cobbles meet the fictional Yorkshire village. Cast members from both programmes will come together in the special episode.
Production commenced on the one-off special in September, though specific storyline details have remained closely guarded. A preview released in early December revealed a dramatic multi-vehicle pile-up on a rural road.
In the darkness, voices of characters from both soaps can be heard crying out for assistance as emergency services respond to the crash scene on a country lane near Hotten village.
Iain Macleod, ITV’s executive producer for continuing drama and former Coronation Street producer, said: “It’s beyond exciting that filming is under way on Corriedale.
“There is a massive buzz around both the Leeds and Manchester sites and the images coming out of the shoot are utterly spectacular. It will be mind-blowing, historical and unmissable.”
