Jackée Harry Hints at Upcoming Drama for Paulina on ‘Days of Our Lives’

Jackée Harry joined the Peacock streaming soap opera Days of Our Lives in 2021, and since then her character, Paulina Price, has run the gambit of major storylines, from finding love with Abe Carver (James Reynolds) to battling cancer and having a complicated relationship with her daughter Chanel (Raven Bowens) and Lani (Sal Stowers). Now the actress teases that her characters happiness may be crashing down around her.

Harry recently spoke with Danielle Young for BET Currents about her career journey, from starring on 227 to returning to the world of daytime soap operas with Days of Our Lives.

During the interview, Harry reflected on Paulina’s current storyline and recent stretch of relative peace. Asked how her character is feeling right now, she replied, “Oh, happy, ecstatic. Just perfect. Everything’s going her way, are you kidding?” She then added a warning, “So you know something’s gotta go wrong.”

Harry shared that Paulina is currently “in a great place,” pointing to her family and stability. “You know in her life, her grandbabies, her peace of mind. Is what everyone wants,” she said, describing the character’s current state as “calm.”

Still, Harry made it clear she doesn’t want the calm to last too long. “I like tension as an actor,” she said. “The actor in me wants tension. I don’t want to be too happy for too long.”

Young also hinted that a new obstacle is ahead for Abe and Paulina. When asked what she could preview, Harry joked, “All I can say is hide the kitchen utensils,” before adding, “Really good but for an actor, but oh, look out. That’s all I can say I’m trying to be tactful.”

While specific details about Paulina’s next storyline have not yet been revealed, there is major movement in her family circle on screen. Abe’s son Theo (Tyler Joseph Andrews) has just awakened from a coma after being kidnapped by his uncle Peter Blake (Dan Gauthier). Meanwhile, Paulina’s daughter Lani and son-in-law Eli Grant (Lamon Archey), are set to return. Meanwhile as previously reported, her younger daughter Chanel, and son-in-law Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) are expected to leave the series in 2027.

Days of Our Lives streams weekdays on Peacock.
