Emmerdale reveals “rollercoaster” future for Kerry amid messy affair plot

Emmerdale spoilers follow.

There’s more drama ahead for Emmerdale’s Kerry Wyatt, as actor Laura Norton has teased excitement to come in her affair plot. Despite being married to elderly Eric Pollard as part of a cash inheritance scheme to secure a future for his grandson Jacob Sugden, Kerry has been having a workplace romance with her boss Jai Sharma.

However, Pollard has become suspicious of Kerry and Jai’s closeness in recent weeks, and discovered the two of them in a state of undress in his old house this week, leading viewers to wonder how he’ll handle the discovery going forward.

Inside Soap sat down with Laura Norton, who plays feisty Kerry, to discuss her complicated love triangle and its repercussions.

“Lots of complicated emotions, ups and downs, roller coasters… I always use that word when I’m talking about anything to do with Kerry, but she’s essentially in a throuple, isn’t she?” Laura says of what’s to come for Kerry. “She’s got two eccentric men in her life. She’s right in the middle of it and having a lot of fun!

“Kerry first thought Jai was really snotty and a big jerk, they never got on, but she gave him advice over his son, then Jai saw a different side to her. Kerry is a sucker for anyone who pays her attention, because until her and Dan, she’d never really been honestly loved by anyone before,” Laura continues.

“So, Kerry’s having a bit of fun with Jai, but because she can see how much he likes her, she’s starting to go, ‘I do actually really like this guy because he likes me’, and he’s making her feel really good about herself, so I think she’s a bit smitten!”

Laura also speculated about whether Kerry’s friendship with her colleague Billy Fletcher could develop into anything romantic in the future, given that he’s now single after being dumped by Dawn Taylor in favour of Joe Tate.

“Jay [Kontzle, who plays Billy] and I love the fact that they are a younger male and female just being really close friends. We said, ‘Whenever we’ve got scenes at the depot, let’s hone in on the fact that they’re good friends and have a right laugh’, and we’ve just kept that going,” Laura shares.

“But as a result, I’ve got messages on X and Instagram going, ‘They’re going to get together!’ We never intended for that, so it’s actually quite sweet. And who knows what the future holds? Things change all the time, but at the minute, I just love the fact that they’re besties.”
