Emmerdale’s Mike Parr shares first ‘dad’ message in sweet ‘day 6’ tribute to newborn daughter
The Ross Barton actor welcomed his first child, Suzie, over the weekend with girlfriend Isabelle Du Plessis
Emmerdale’s Mike Parr shared “I absolutely adore you” in first “dad” message to newborn daughter, Suzie.

The 39-year-old star is best known for his portrayal of Ross Barton in Emmerdale, a role he first took on back in 2013. He initially appeared as an unnamed man who carjacked Laurel Thomas.

Although the character left briefly in 2018, Ross arrived back in the Dales in October last year after a six year hiatus. He was first seen in an unlicensed boxing match with Billy Fletcher.

Since returning to the role, he’s been nominated for Best Comic Performance at the Inside Soap Awards 2025.
He currently holds an accolade for “most awards in one night”, but shares this title with EastEnders star Shane Richie.
Earlier this year, the actor announced that him and his girlfriend Isabelle Du Plessis were expecting their first child together, after “hard launching” their relationship last October.

In a joint post on Instagram, the couple posed for a photo with Mike’s hand on Isabelle’s bump, and showed off a message they had written in the sand on the beach.
It read: “M.J.P S.D.P. Soon to be 3.” The post was then captioned: “In our Mum + Dad Era.”
Isabelle announced that she had given both over the weekend, but it was Mike who wrote a tribute to his newborn daughter, Suzie, on day 6.

Taking to his Instagram, he posted a black and white snap of him walking with Suzie inside a baby carrier in one hand, and a bag in the other.
Writing out a heartfelt tribute to his daughter, he penned: “I understand unconditional love for the first time!

“Dear Suzie The last 6 days with you have been better than all my years on this planet combined. Life before you seems so meaningless.
“You have changed what the word love means to me. In fact, I’m not sure I understood what it was before I held you. There’s not a day that will go by when I don’t tell you and show you how much you mean to me. I’ll leave no stone unturned in making sure you always feel safe, supported, and loved.
“I absolutely adore you. Thank you for making us so happy. Love, Dad x”.

His Emmerdale co-stars were quick to show their love, as Beth Cordingly gushed: “Thrilled for you both, sending tonnes of love. you’ll be an amazing dad. Lucky Suzie. Love to you all, little fam. Here’s to the biggest adventure of your lives xxxxx”
Lisa Riley added: “So much love and congratulations to you all…..could not be happier for you all” as Kelvin Fletcher penned: “Congratulations lad. What a journey you’ve begun”.
