‘General Hospital’ Dominates Daytime Emmys with Major Wins
General Hospital proved once again why Port Charles remains daytime’s most powerful address. The ABC soap dominated the 2025 Daytime Emmy Awards, winning Outstanding Drama Series and earning major creative victories in Writing, Directing, and Costume Design. The wins celebrated not only GH’s emotional storytelling, but also the artistic team behind the scenes whose vision, craft, and passion continue to elevate the genre.
The 52nd Annual Daytime Emmys Awards were held on Friday night, and no one can deny that General Hospital took the night. Not only did they win the most awards of this year, but one of them was the most coveted Outstanding Daytime Drama Series, which GH won for a record-setting 18th time overall. They also extended their record streak of 5 consecutive wins in this category.
Executive Producer Frank Valentini accepted the award on behalf of the show alongside his cast and crew, who were in attendance and joined him onstage for his speech. The award was given to:

General Hospital also won Outstanding Writing Team for a Daytime Drama Series. The award was given to:

Writers: Cathy LePard and Anne Schoettle

The show also took home Outstanding Directing Team for a Daytime Drama Series. The award was given to:

The ABC sudser was denied a clean sweep when Days of our Lives won Outstanding Casting and The Drew Barrymore Show won Outstanding Hairstyling and Makeup, but no one can say they didn’t make the best showing of the night.
