Emmerdale fans have predicted a new character is a “ticking time bomb” about to explode.

Kev Townsend, the husband of Robert Sugden, arrived on the Emmerdale scene in recent weeks after it was revealed the pair married while Robert was in prison. Now that they are both out of prison, Kev’s aggressive attitude is starting to cause trouble in the Yorkshire village, and fans think he might be about to explode.

In today’s episode, Kev told Robert how he had to fight his way through prison, but is struggling to change his violent ways now he is out. And fans think it is a matter of time before he loses it.

One fan SAID on social media: “Kev is a ticking time bomb.” Another said: “I don’t understand how Robert’s brain hasn’t exploded yet. Kev might have been his savior in prison but out in the world he’s something no one can handle. First he had John to deal with and he drove him crazy until Aaron saved him and now it’s Kev. Is Aaron gonna come to his rescue this time again or he’s gonna have to do it alone? Hopefully Aaron will give him a chance after he finds out.”

Another fan said: “The prison story scenes were much better today because it was about how Robert and Kev’s dysfunctional relationship is unsustainable in the real world. Kev is a volcano of anger waiting to erupt at any minute and Robert has had to deal with that for years in prison.”

Tony Coffey said: “I somehow don’t think Kev is going to take being dumped very well, he’ll need more than an elastic band on his wrist.”
