Today on The Bold and the Beautiful – December 4: Deke chats with Sheila, Deacon has another session with Taylor, Ridge rejects Eric’s offer, and more. Read on as Soap Opera News recaps all the drama that unfolded.

B&B Recap December 4: Deke and Sheila Chat

At Il Giardino, Deacon tells his father and Sheila how great things have been going at Forrester. “If anyone can do it, it’s my talented son,” Deacon insists. Sheila can see how proud and happy he is about his son’s progress.

Deke says he has to lean into his originality and not just copy Thomas’s style. Deacon thinks he can pull it off. But he has to head out for a little “shrinky” time and insists that Deke and Sheila play nice while he’s gone.

Deke gets up to leave, and Sheila asks if he’s really heading out. Deke points out that his dad isn’t around anymore. Sheila invites him to stay because she wants to get to know him a little better.

He says he doesn’t want to be away from work too long. She gets that, but she also wants him to see the new version of her. Her past may be a little iffy, but she really does love his dad.

Deke says he’s heard plenty of people claim they’ve changed when they really haven’t. Sheila insists that she truly has and tries to get him to see that. She wishes she could be accepted by Deacon’s kids; after all, they’re a family.

Sheila points out that she’s really excited about Hope’s wedding. Seeing two people commit their lives to each other gives her a chance to show Hope and Deke that she’s a changed woman. She hopes it will also show everyone that the Sharpe family is truly united.

Deacon Goes to See Taylor

B&B Recap: Eric Won't Leave Forrester Behind

Deacon arrives early for his session. He wonders if he should wait outside, but she invites him in. She admits she thought he’d be tired of her by now, but he insists he’s not. He says he figured she would be tired of him. She tells him she’s ready to get the session started.

Go grab your shovel, lady. Let’s get dirty,” he says.

Taylor wants to know how things are going with Sheila. Deacon tells her that his son Deke is over at the restaurant with Sheila. He adds that he and Sheila spent Thanksgiving together, and Taylor’s name came up. Sheila is grateful that Taylor helped save their marriage.

Taylor is glad to hear that, but she still wonders if Sheila will ever truly be accepted by his kids.

Deacon hopes his children will see Sheila the way he does. He can’t blame them for being worried about him. They start talking about Hope’s wedding, and Deacon admits he isn’t sure if Sheila will get an invitation, and if she doesn’t, she’ll be devastated.

Donna Stands up for Eric

In the showroom, Donna and Brooke look over the designs and note that Ridge really learned from the best. Donna makes it clear that she hopes Ridge will listen to his dad.

Donna insists that FC only exists because of Eric. Brooke says Ridge is grateful, but Donna keeps saying Ridge should be excited to work with his dad again. Brooke points out it’s not up to her; whatever happens is between the father and son.

She nudges her sister to sit down and reminds her that none of their couples’ trips would have happened if Eric were still working full-time. He’s a man who throws himself into his work.

Donna doesn’t want that, but it wouldn’t be fair to ask her husband to give up something he loves so much. She pleads with Brooke to get through to Ridge, saying Eric is — and always will be — a designer until his dying day.

Ridge Rejects Eric’s Request

At the office, Ridge is surprised that Eric actually wants to help him with the couture line. Eric wonders what better team there could be than the two of them. Ridge admits there isn’t one, while Eric makes his case for why he should be part of it.

Of course, Ridge is excited but tells his dad that he doesn’t want to be back in the trenches.

Eric points out that this isn’t about competition, it’s about collaboration. He hasn’t stopped sketching. Ridge suggests his father should go ride off into the sunset or something; that’s what he’d do if he were in Eric’s shoes.

Eric snaps back, saying Ridge is not in his shoes and he can’t possibly know what it feels like to be standing in this building right now. Ridge insists he’s taking on the headache so his dad doesn’t have to.

Ridge raises his voice, trying to make Eric understand. Then his phone goes off. He checks it and apologizes to his dad, saying he has to cut things short as he kisses him on the forehead and walks out.

Ridge joins Brooke in the showroom, and she asks how his chat with his dad went. Ridge says his dad wants to join him on the couture line. Brooke mentions that Donna already told her. Ridge reflects that his dad had such an incredible career, and maybe it’s time for him to step back. She asks if he told his dad about the party, and he admits he hasn’t yet.

Meanwhile, Eric watches the busy staff at the office. Later, he closes the door, emotionally drained, and sits behind the desk, staring at the photos.
