‘B&B’ Star Crew Morrow on Following in Joshua Morrow’s Soap Footsteps (Exclusive)
On the heels of Will Spencer III learning loony Luna is no longer carrying his child and has presumably died again on The Bold and the Beautiful, portrayer Crew Morrow talks to Woman’s World about following his The Young and the Restless father Joshua Morrow into the hallowed and juicy halls of soap opera drama and getting to learn from daytime TV greats.
Plus, the younger Morrow tells Woman’s World how he feels about Daytime Emmy-winner Lisa Yamada’s Bonnie and Clyde dreams for The Bold and the Beautiful’s Will and Luna and what it’s like to be a young buck in the soap world.
Crew Morrow on being a second gen soap star—‘Everybody knows me…I love it!’

It’s been just over a year since Crew Morrow signed on to play Bill and Katie’s son Will, but this cutie has been around daytime his whole life thanks to his father, Joshua Morrow—who signed on as The Young and the Restless’ Nick Newman when he was the same age, back in 1994!
“Everybody knows me, and I don’t quite know them…but I love it,” the 20-year-old says of attending his first Daytime Emmys and being welcomed by just about every soap star, fan and member of the press he passes. “It’s so special.”
“My dad’s also my hero, so when people tell me that I resemble him or that it’s great to see me walk in his footsteps, that feels very special to me,” he adds. “It gets annoying sometimes…but then I remember who my dad is and the son he raised me to be, and it makes it okay.”
Proud Joshua Morrow says son Crew is ‘so much better than I was’

While the term nepo-baby can have negative connotations, The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful are part of a soap opera family dynasty. Co-creators William and Lee Bell’s son, Brad, has long been at the helm of The Bold and the Beautiful, and their daughter Lauralee’s legacy character, Cricket, is celebrating her remarriage to Danny this week on The Young and the Restless.
Young Oliver Bell, who once played a Forrester intern, is now working alongside his father Brad, marking the third generation. With lifers likeDon Diamont often telling us about the familial atmosphere of the Bell soaps, the elder Morrow insists no one lasts in daytime unless they’ve got the goods.
“Maybe my name got Crew in the door, but they’re never going to hire him just because I’m over here,” he told us when we talked The Young and the Restless earlier this year. “Frankly, he’s so much better than I was. Man, he is just making such strong choices and he’s so confident!”
Crew Morrow on his first year on ‘B&B’: ‘I was definitely on a learning curve’
The young actor actually landed the high-octane films Continental Split and 24 Hours to D-Day within weeks of announcing he was getting into his father’s business. Still, he admits joining daytime has been a whole new ball game.
“The way soaps shoot is much different, but I didn’t know that going into it,” he explains. “So I was definitely on a learning curve. I just had to rely on my dad, for one. It’s about understanding the tags of the show, keeping the viewer interested…little things that make the ship stay afloat.”
After hitting the ground with a sweet romance with Luna and some family drama, Morrow was thrust into the middle of the action when now evil and once again believed dead Luna got him drunk enough to think he was sleeping with his girl, Electra…and then announced she was pregnant with his child!
“When we were shooting that story, I was front and center,” Morrow says. “I was like, ‘It’s on me to entertain and perform! I’m a key piece of the puzzle.’ That was a special moment. It was scary, but it was incredibly uplifting when I came home from work and felt like I’d given it my all.”
Morrow’s hope for Will Spencer? ‘The darker the better!’

Will barely had a chance to catch his breath and find his balance with Electra again before Luna was back on the scene. The schemer whose committed murder, caged Steffy and raped Will broke out of prison to reveal she’d lost the baby, sending the Logans, Spencers and Forresters into another round of panic.
When we spoke with portrayer Lisa Yamada before her Daytime Emmy win, she told us that as far-fetched as it sounds, she’d like to see her character Luna and Will ride off into the sunset together…and then go all Bonnie and Clyde.
“I sure hope that could happen,” Morrow says with a grin. “I would definitely like to see that. I say the darker Will goes the better!”
“I could also be like a light for her,” he adds. “And I would just love to have more scenes with Lisa. She’s such a brilliant actress. I cannot speak highly enough of her. She’s awesome.”
Sure, Yamada’s character was just killed off again…but it’s hard to keep a vixen down on The Bold and the Beautiful! Luna could rise before you finish reading this story. If Will and Luna do someday, somehow run off together, Morrow just hopes it’s on his motorcycle.
“A highlight of this ride was getting to ride my Harley on Beverly Boulevard for an episode,” he says of his run on the show. “Yeah, that was my bike. So cool.”
The ‘kids’ of ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ are just getting started

With Morrow’s Will, a The Bold and the Beautiful legacy character, born to Don Diamont’s Bill and Heather Tom’s Katie, Yamada’s Luna now tied to Kimberlin Brown’s infamous Sheila Carter, and Laneya Grace’s Electra and Christian Weissmann’s Remy both Forresters; a new generation of 20-somethings is getting into the drama on the 38-year-old soap.
“And now Harrison Cone has joined (as Deacon’s son Deke), and he is just the sweetest dude ever,” Morrow says. “We all hang out, off and on set, and go out together. I feel like we’ve come together now, this group of kids, and we’re forming relationships. It’s amazing.”
They are also learning the ropes, together, and taking cues from their The Bold and the Beautiful (cough) elders.
“I’ve watched old stuff, and you can see all the youngins grow up—especially Scott and Jacqui,” Morrow tells Woman’s World, referring to Clifton and MacInnes Wood, who play Liam and Steffy and boast three Daytime Emmys each. “And I think that’s what you’re watching right now, so I love it. I’m just so grateful.”
