Bold and the Beautiful’s Lisa Yamada & Christian Weissmann Spill All

Another episode of Soapy, The Podcast is out — and this one’s a good one! Hosts Rebecca Budig and Greg Rikaart sat down with The Bold and the Beautiful stars Christian Weissmann (aka Remy Pryce) and Lisa Yamada (Luna Nozawa), whose real-life friendship is just as genuine as their on-screen chemistry.

The conversation turned out to be a surprisingly eye-opening one, covering everything from audition struggles to career milestones. Weissmann revealed that he actually auditioned for B&B several times and didn’t land the part — until one day, the show called his agent out of the blue with a small role offer.

Making History

It was supposed to last just a few episodes, but obviously that changed fast. His character has clearly transitioned from a “psycho stalker” into one-half of the first same-sex couple in The Bold and the Beautiful’s history. Weissmann shared how grateful he was that the writers handled Remy’s redemption arc with “such care and such grace.”

Yamada and Weissmann also have a few things in common, including making history for the show. While Weissmann broke ground with his storyline, Yamada recently made her own mark by winning her first-ever Daytime Emmy at the 52nd Annual Awards. She took home the trophy for Emerging Talent, becoming the inaugural winner in that category and the first Asian-American actor from a network soap to win an Emmy in an acting category. Applause, please!

Lisa Yamada’s New Projects

Lisa also shared details about her exciting new project — a recurring role as one of Elle Woods’s high school friends in Amazon Prime’s upcoming Legally Blonde prequel series, Elle.

I play one of Elle Woods’s friends in the new prequel where Elle’s still in high school,” she said, adding that the character is “so completely different” from Luna on B&B. “It was really refreshing.” She also has a new movie coming called I Wish You All the Best, and guess who’s in it? None other than her B&B co-star, Harrison Cone (aka Deke Sharpe),

Weissmann opened up about something much more personal — his decision to be honest about his experience with sexual abuse at a young age. He talked about how writing, including an op-ed piece for the LA Times, became a cathartic outlet that helped him process his trauma and embrace his bisexual and queer identity. He’s also a published poet, with a book titled Here, Him and I, and even read one of his poems during the podcast.

Both actors laughed about how fast-paced the soap world can be, with Christian joking that shooting “10–15 pages a day” counts as an easy day on set.
