Looks like Chicago Med is adding a little extra drama to its ER — soap-style! Cary Christopher, fresh off being named Soap Opera News’ Performer of the Week for his standout work as Thomas DiMera on Days of Our Lives, is heading to primetime again.

The young Daytime Emmy-nominated actor revealed the news via Instagram. He’ll be appearing in the October 29 episode of the hit NBC medical drama. The episode is titled What’s Hiding in the Dark?, and is the fifth in the show’s eleventh season, which just kicked off earlier this month.

What Role will Cary Christopher Play on Chicago Med?

Christopher is set to play a character named Lucas Early. While we don’t have all the details about his role just yet, we do know the episode will be packed with tension: Asher and Archer’s personal clash hits a boiling point, Charles and Ripley dive into a rare neurological mystery, and Goodwin’s personal life faces some unexpected pressure. Sounds like a busy shift.

Fans probably know Cary best from Days of Our Lives, where he plays Thomas DiMera — a role that earned him a Daytime Emmy nomination in 2023. But this isn’t his first primetime rodeo. Cary has appeared in The Rookie, NCIS, Station 19, High Potential, Fuller House, and more. He also takes the spotlight in the new thriller Weapons, playing a character named Alex.
