Vicky Myerss eemingly dropping a hint about the ITV soap’s upcoming Emmerdale crossover

Coronation Street fans think they have ‘rumbled’ what may be in Lisa Swain’s future as the actress who plays her seemingly dropping a hint about the show’s upcoming Emmerdale crossover.

Vicky Myers was in a celebratory mood on Monday night (September 29) as she picked up two awards at the 2025 Inside Soap Awards, which took place at London’s One Ninetyfour.

The actress, who debuted in the role of DS Swain in 2021 before being given a regular role early last year, claimed the awards for best actress and best partnership along with Alison King, who plays her fiancee Carla Connor in the ITV soap.

She was among the Weatherfield crew who headed to the bash, with on-screen daughter Sydney Martin, who plays Betsy Swain, on hand to support her successes.

But it was in a post-award interview with the Metro that Vicky seemingly gave away what she’s up to at the moment, as she told the reporter on the red carpet she would be “on the train back to Leeds tomorrow”.

Fans of both Corrie and Emmerdale know that a huge episode is set to air at the start of next year, to mark ITV’s new soap schedule.

ITV announced in February that from January 2026, Coronation Street and Emmerdale will move to a new scheduling pattern on ITV1, introducing a soaps power hour from Monday to Friday, with 30 minute Emmerdale episodes at 8pm, and 30 minute Coronation Street episodes at 8.30pm. Episodes will also continue to drop at 7am on ITVX, before transmission that evening.

To mark the change, it was previously announced that the special episode, to air in January, will have “everlasting consequences for everyone involved”, saying the two shows’ universes in Manchester and Yorkshire had been linked in an “ingenious way”.

They say the episode will be self-contained, but its events will have “repercussions for both communities and see them linked forever as familiar faces depart and exciting new characters arrive in both soaps”.

And Corrie fans have been speculating how Vicky’s character could be found in the Dales if that so happens to be what she’s filming. @KatieJukebox said: “TRAIN BACK TO LEEDS? VICKY MYERS IS IN THE EMMERDALE AND CORRIE CROSSOVER.”
