Coronation Street spoilers as Debbie and Ronnie’s wedding day leads to horror crash and Carla’s on mission
The couple’s wedding day leads to the drama of Corriedale, ITV’s historic Corrie and Emmerdale crossover
Weddings in soapland rarely go to plan, and it looks like Debbie Webster and Ronnie Bailey’s nuptials will end in disaster, not just for those in Weatherfield.
As Coronation Street fans know, the long-running show will crossover next week with Emmerdale for a one-off episode, dubbed Corriedale, which will have implications for those on the cobbles, and those in the Dales.
The episode has been described as a celebration of the soap genre and has been created to launch the network’s new ‘soap power hour’ scheduling pattern for Coronation Street and Emmerdale, with both soaps airing every weekday for half an hour each from 8pm.
To mark the change, producers, scriptwriters and production teams conceived the ingenious way of linking the two universes, with characters then returning to the soaps they are renowned for inhabiting in Manchester and Yorkshire, but with the horror that unfolds linking them forever.
Corriedale has since been teased in two atmospheric promo videos that gives a glimpse at the horror coming up on Monday, January 5, at 8pm, as in the chaotic aftermath of the smash, characters from both shows calling for help in the darkness as the emergency services arrive at the scene on a country road near the village of Hotten.
It’s previously been confirmed that Debbie and Ronnie’s wedding will take place in Yorkshire in early 2026 and now, new Corrie spoilers have revealed how events will unfold in the lead-up to the horror crash confirmed for ‘Corriedale’.
In the episode building up to Corriedale, Debbie and Ronnie’s guests prepare to leave the wedding party in the minibus, each of them caught up in dramas of their own. A drunken Carl is keen to escape but hasn’t bargained on Debbie jumping into his car. Meanwhile, a desperate Kit Green and Carla Connor head in the other direction towards Yorkshire on a mission to stop Becky Swain.

With darkness falling and the weather worsening a series of dramatic events bring the residents of Hotton and Weatherfield together and change lives forever.
It starts when, after getting a tip off about where Becky’s car was last seen, Kit makes a shocking discovery. Having found Carla, and realising that Becky is heading for Rotterdam, they set off for Hull. As the car speeds towards the port, Carla calls Lisa. When Lisa takes the call a distracted Becky realises who is on the phone and takes her eye off the road with catastrophic consequences.
A distraught Debbie attempts to put on a brave face at the party while Carl is distracted by his cash—unaware it’s mostly fake. Still drinking heavily, Carl drives off recklessly, with a terrified Debbie trapped in the car as he confronts her about his dying mother. Ronnie remains oblivious, dancing away at the reception, while Kevin and Abi Webster chase after Carl and Debbie.
Meanwhile, Todd Grimshaw begs a concerned Billy Mayhew to take him home so he can collect his things while Theo Silverton is out. James Bailey thanks Ronnie and Debbie and explains he’s catching a lift with Billy, who’s driving the minibus back to Weatherfield with Todd, Asha Alahan, Cassie Plummer, David Platt, Shona Platt, James, Steve McDonald, and Tracy Barlow. As they are leaving, Theo appears with his suitcase, terrifying Todd.
Later, Shona and David head up to the bridal suite to use the loo. They’re taken aback to find Cassie locked in the bathroom. Cassie explains that it was Tracy’s doing. Todd, Asha, Cassie, David, Shona, James, Steve and Tracy board the minibus and Billy sets off for Weatherfield.
Then, the worlds of two major soaps collide in a catastrophic, life-changing one-hour special. It begins with Debbie’s dramatic wedding to Ronnie, where a desperate, drink-fuelled Carl speeds away with Debbie in the car. Simultaneously, Becky, fleeing her past with Lisa and Betsy, loses control of her vehicle, triggering a multi-car pile-up on a stormy road between Hotton and Weatherfield.
The minibus carrying wedding guests – including Billy, David, pregnant Shona, Steve, and Tracy – heads towards the crash, can Billy steer them out of danger? With a drunken Carl careering out of control on the wet road is he about to put more lives at risk?
Elsewhere, the desperate love triangle between Aaron Dingle, Robert Sugden, and the vengeful John Sugden culminates in the chaos, as Aaron is held at gunpoint. Hot on their heels, Kit and Carla arrive to save lives and pursue fugitives.
Cain and Moira Dingle are taking Jacob Gallagher and Sarah Sugden to the airport and are blinded by Mackenzise Boyd, in his car with Charity Dingle, flashing his lights. Cain desperately tries to avert disaster when Mack’s car crashes nearby. In the queue of traffic, a mysterious van pulls up, concealing a terrified, bound woman.
The episode ends at Hotten General, where the injured arrive, but life will never be the same. The aftermath of the crash gives rise to fear, murderous intent, death, destruction, closely-guarded secrets, and lies.
