Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers for the week of December 22-26 reveal that three characters will return and the crypt captives will go free. There’ll also be a mistletoe surprise, so here’s what DOOL fans can expect.

First, it looks like Tate Black (Leo Howard) will have to deliver a double dose of bad news to Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis).

Tate’s on academic probation, so he may finally admit the terrible situation surrounding his grades.

Days spoilers say Holly may also face disappointment over Tate bailing on their Paris plans.

Tate was supposed to go with Holly over winter break, but it seems he’ll decide to skip the trip and brighten Rachel Black’s (Alice Halsey) holiday at Bayview.

Speaking of Rachel, she’s teetering on the edge of more trouble since she’s hoping to escape with Sophia Choi (Rachel Boyd) the next time Sophia goes on an adventure.

Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) will be pleased to see Peter initially, but this sibling reunion could ultimately go wrong.

Since Kristen is feverish and distraught over Rachel, she’s not in a good frame of mind.

That could lead to Kristen accusing Peter of staging his own kidnapping and being behind this whole DiMera nightmare.

Kristen may physically attack Peter since she’ll end up asking his forgiveness in the hospital after the captives are freed.

Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) has already been working on getting access to the crypt, so he may find the hostages along with Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord).

Days spoilers say Peter and Kristen will be hospitalized along with Theo Carver (Tyler Joseph Andrews), who seems poised to pass out and whack his head in the crypt beforehand.

Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis), EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) and Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) may undergo medical examinations, too – just to be sure they’re OK following their captivity stint.

Of course, EJ will have a lot to catch up on when it comes to his secret project.

Gwen von Leuschner (Emily O’Brien) may have to resume her efforts to keep Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) out of harm’s way.

Chanel Dupree DiMera’s (Raven Bowens) pregnancy will also come as a shock to Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) while Chad reunites with his kids just in time for Christmas.

Days spoilers say Chad, Thomas DiMera (Cary Christopher) and Charlotte DiMera (Autumn Gendron) will all be part of the Horton tree-trimming gathering.

There’ll be some other holiday homecomings as well since Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo), Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers) and Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) will all return to Salem.

While Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) enjoy a Christmas celebration, Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) will get swept up in a mistletoe kiss with Brady Black (Eric Martsolf).
