Emmerdale’s Charles Anderson actor Kevin Mathurin has been in a relationship with a rather famous face for years

Emmerdale’s Kevin Mathurin has become a beloved figure on the ITV soap, and it transpires he’s dating a rather well-known partner in real life.

Village vicar Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) first graced our screens back in 2020 – and it wasn’t long before he won over viewers. Throughout the years, Charles has been central to numerous major plotlines.

From his ill-fated relationship with Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) to losing his son Ethan (Emile John), Charles’ stint in the village has been packed with turmoil.

What’s more, in 2023, Charles’ mother, Claudette (Flo Wilson), arrived in the Dales, and she swiftly caused quite a stir. And in Wednesday’s episode (February 25), Charles and Claudette attend Ray Walters’ (Joe Absolom) wake following his death.

Beyond the enduring ITV drama, however, Charles’ portrayer Kevin enjoys a considerably more peaceful existence and is smitten with his long-standing other half, who happens to be a recognisable personality, reports the Mirror.

Kevin has been romantically involved with international DJ Nikki Beatnik, who collaborates with A-list celebrities including Kelis, Jay-Z, and Kanye West, since 2011. The couple share a son named Harley.

Much like her beau Kevin, Nikki also operates within the entertainment industry, working as both a producer and DJ. In 2016, she discussed her profession, revealing to The Standard: “I’ve met some cool, interesting people.”

She reminisced: “One night Spike Jones hung out with me in the booth, but I didn’t say a word to him because I was just too busy DJing.

“Another time, we went out with Tom Jones and was like, ‘This is crazy’. I did parties for Alicia Keys a few times, and she’d have people like Stevie Wonder coming.”

Meanwhile, in 2023, Kevin, who travels from the family home in south London to Leeds, where Emmerdale is filmed, spoke candidly about his relationship with Nikki. He disclosed she would have “killed him” if he hadn’t taken on the role of Charles on Emmerdale because she understands how significant it is to him.

“I do feel guilty being away from the family, especially when the schedule is really busy, and I am working five days a week. It breaks my heart when I get a little voice message from my eight-year-old son, Harley, saying he misses me,” Kevin told OK.

“And it’s especially hard for Nikki as she is the one juggling all the school runs and after-school activities, but knowing Harley and my 14-year-old daughter, Gracie, are missing their dad.

“Even if I have had a busy day filming, I will always have so much empathy for Nikki when we catch up on a video call in the evening.”

Kevin added, “But she also understands what it is like to have a job you love. She has a job she loves too. And thankfully, if we are both away with our jobs, we’ve got the grandparents to help out.”
