Emmerdale exit ‘sealed’ for John Sugden as fans ‘work out’ villager murders him
Emmerdale fans believe they’ve figured out who is responsible for the demise of John Sugden, and it’s not the obvious suspect.
John, played by Oliver Farnworth, has been a source of much drama since his introduction, including being revealed as the murderer of Nate Robinson (Jurrell Carter) in September 2024.
However, things began to unravel for John when Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) discovered his secret. In a desperate move, John assaulted Mack and kept him prisoner in an underground bunker.
John’s spouse, Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), also uncovered the truth, leading to a dramatic confrontation on a cliff edge where Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) arrived to rescue Aaron.
In a shocking turn of events, John faked a call to emergency services, accusing Robert of threatening him, before leaping from the cliff, dragging Aaron with him.
Upon arrival, the emergency services rushed both men to hospital. Aaron was put into an induced coma due to a brain haemorrhage, while John, although recovering, remained hospitalised, reports the Daily Star.
Despite his pleas of innocence, Robert was arrested for attempted murder, causing shockwaves throughout the village.
In the episode aired on Friday, 12th September, Victoria (Isabel Hodgins), Robert’s sister, was left heartbroken after Moira (Natalie J Robb) and Cain (Jeff Hordley) informed her that they were excluding her from their venture and returning her investment.
Victoria was left seething by the decision, having sided with John and wanting no association with Robert, who attempted to contact her from prison.
With John’s downfall seemingly imminent, viewers are speculating that he will be murdered – and they believe they know the culprit. On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, one viewer posted: “They can’t keep dragging this on but if John does get killed off who do we think will kill him?”.
One person suggested Victoria, commenting: “Vic maybe?” Another chimed in: “I can see her flipping out when the truth comes out tbh.” A third agreed, adding: “Same here.”
