While awaiting his prostate surgery, which has been scheduled for next month, Cain has also had to deal with his wife Moira’s (Natalie J Robb) wrongful imprisonment, as well as Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) trying to take over Butler’s Farm.

After keeping his diagnosis a secret from most of his family, Cain bravely opened up to Moira about the extent of his ordeal on Monday (March 9).
Moira was heartbroken to learn of her husband’s struggles while she was unable to help from prison, but urged him to tell the wider family, and his two sons, Kyle (Huey Quinn) and Isaac (Bobby Dunsmuir).

Cain took his wife’s advice during Tuesday’s (March 10) episode, which is now available to stream on ITVX.
The village stalwart told his siblings, Chas (Lucy Pargeter), Caleb (William Ash), Sam (James Hooton) and Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper), about his diagnosis at the Wishing Well Cottage, with his granddaughter Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) offering moral support.
“I don’t want to keep having the same conversations, so can you tell the rest of the family for me?” Cain asked his brothers and sisters, adding: “I want to be clear. I don’t want any pity or any sympathetic looks. In fact, I don’t really want to be talking about it at all… Look, I am fine. You don’t have to worry about me.”

Later, the Dingle family gathered at the Woolpack to support Cain after learning of his diagnosis. Cain then headed into the backroom to break the news to his sons in emotional scenes.
After a speech from Sam reminded him of how loved he is by his family, Cain took a moment to get some fresh air outside, where he was met with some bad news. Joe informed him that Moira had sold her shares of the farm to his step-grandmother, Kim Tate (Claire King), with Cain looking on in horror.

Joe also confirmed that he wouldn’t be pressing charges after he obtained footage of Cain stealing his brand-new car. Cain also punched Joe last week when the evil businessman threatened to call the police on him.
However, some viewers are convinced that Joe will back out on his word, and get Cain arrested. “I don’t trust Joe at all. I still think he’s going to call the police on Cain,” one person wrote on a Facebook fan page.

But one fan has found a scenario that could potentially exonerate Cain, writing: “So, this is what should happen. Joe goes to the police, the police question Cain and Cain says, ‘Yeah, I took his car for a test drive, he told me something was wrong with it so I drove it to find out what was wrong.’ I don’t think Joe reported it stolen to the police, so how can he claim he stole it?”
Another fan agreed, saying: “I like your thinking,” while a third said: “Was thinking the same, could also suggest he knows more than he is letting on about what was happening on his land.”
Meanwhile, other viewers have shared their heartbreak after watching Cain tell his family about his cancer. “Not me sitting here sobbing my heart out. What an emotional episode. Cain telling his kids broke me, then Sam’s speech. Well done Emmerdale, extremely emotional,” one person wrote.
