Emmerdale icon rushed to hospital as they face life-changing operation

Emmerdale fans have been left concerned for one village favourite

Emmerdale fans have been left worried for one ITV soap favourite on Friday.

*Warning contains spoilers from Friday’s episode available on ITV X now* Earlier this week, a struggling Sam Dingle asked for his job back after he was fired for stealing Christmas trees in a bid to make extra money.

After being rehired, Sam quit his job on the spot thinking Moira Dingle would offer him work on Butlers Farm. However, he soon realised there was no new job and due to his family’s mounting bills, Sam asked for his Home Farm job back.

Joe Tate liked making Sam uncomfortable but Kim Tate soon interfered, pointing out Sam and his wife Lydia Dingle are like family, and Sam was promptly rehired.

However, Sam’s wife Lydia was quick to reevaluate her loyalty to Kim due to her stingy raffle donation and Joe’s treatment of Sam.

In a bid to make extra cash, Sam planned a dodgy shoot on Home Farm land for cash without Kim knowing and Lydia agreed to help by distracting Kim at the Christmas Fayre without realising Kim had planned a surprise for Lydia with a visit from Jason Donovan.

At the shoot, Lydia faced pressure to keep it secret while Kim demanded her presence at the Fayre and Oliver’s shooting party demanded food.

However, things went from bad to worse when Sam worried Vanessa Woodfield had seen the shoot and his worries were confirmed when Vanessa told Kim about the dodgy shoot to which she headed back to Home Farm to investigate.

In a dramatic twist, Kim was soon found grievously injured in the woods after riding her horse to investigate the shoot, and she was left unable to move her leg before passing out.

Later, she was discovered by her worried family and a guilty Lydia on Friday’s episode after they realised she was missing.

After being rushed to hospital, Dawn Fletcher issued updates to a guilty Lydia and worried Sam, saying Kim’s beloved horse Ice had a homemade snare embedded in its leg and it had caused a load of damage, revealing she was going to get the police involved.

At the end of the episode, an update on Kim was provided as Dawn said: “There’s just been so much damage…” to which Joe said: “She’s just far from in the clear.”

Dawn continued: “They’re just talking about the tissue and blood supply”, adding that if Kim doesn’t make any improvements “she’s going to lose her leg.” Will Lydia confess she and Sam are behind the shoot?

Emmerdale continues on weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV and ITV X.
