Emmerdale spoilers as icon rushed to hospital amid life-changing operation
Emmerdale fans are concerned for the character’s future
Emmerdale enthusiasts have expressed concern for a beloved character in the ITV soap on Friday.
Earlier this week, Sam Dingle, who was struggling, requested his job back after being dismissed for pilfering Christmas trees to earn extra cash. After regaining his position, Sam abruptly resigned, assuming Moira Dingle would offer him employment at Butlers Farm.
However, he soon discovered there was no new job and due to his family’s escalating bills, Sam asked for his Home Farm job back. Joe Tate enjoyed making Sam feel uneasy, but Kim Tate intervened, highlighting that Sam and his wife Lydia Dingle are like family, leading to Sam’s swift rehiring.
However, Lydia quickly reassessed her loyalty to Kim due to her meagre raffle donation and Joe’s treatment of Sam, reports the Daily Star. In an attempt to earn additional money, Sam organised a questionable shoot on Home Farm land without Kim’s knowledge, and Lydia agreed to assist by diverting Kim at the Christmas Fayre, unaware that Kim had arranged a surprise visit from Jason Donovan for Lydia.
At the shoot, Lydia felt the pressure to keep it secret while Kim insisted on her presence at the Fayre and Oliver’s shooting party demanded food. However, the situation deteriorated when Sam feared Vanessa Woodfield had witnessed the shoot, and his fears were confirmed when Vanessa informed Kim about the dubious shoot, prompting her to return to Home Farm to investigate.

In a shocking turn of events, Kim was soon discovered severely wounded in the woodland after riding her horse to investigate the shoot, and she found herself unable to move her leg before losing consciousness. Subsequently, she was found by her anxious family and a remorseful Lydia on Friday’s episode after they noticed her absence.

Following her urgent hospital admission, Dawn Fletcher provided updates to a guilt-ridden Lydia and concerned Sam, explaining that Kim’s cherished horse Ice had a makeshift snare lodged in its leg which had caused extensive damage, disclosing she intended to involve the police.
At the episode’s conclusion, an update on Kim was given as Dawn said: “There’s just been so much damage…” to which Joe responded: “She’s just far from in the clear.”

Dawn went on: “They’re just talking about the tissue and blood supply”, noting that if Kim doesn’t show any improvement “she’s going to lose her leg.”
It remains to be seen if Lydia will admit she and Sam are responsible for the shoot.
