Emmerdale actress Amy Walsh was previously engaged to a famous face before finding love with husband Toby-Alexander Smith

Emmerdale’s Tracy Metcalfe has enjoyed quite a turbulent romantic history on the soap – but who is the well-known actor that Amy Walsh was once engaged to?

Amy became part of the long-running ITV drama in 2014, taking on the role of Tracy. It wasn’t long before the character found herself embroiled in village drama.

From explosive rows and sex work to infidelity and coping with the heartbreaking loss of husband Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter), Tracy has experienced her share of major plotlines.

Off-screen from the ITV drama, however, actress Amy is blissfully happy with husband Toby-Alexander Smith. The couple share a daughter called Bonnie, and are currently awaiting their second bundle of joy.

Prior to finding romance with Toby, Amy was betrothed to a recognisable face: actor Bradley Jaden. Bradley has featured in West End productions including Les Misérables and Wicked, reports the Mirror.

He also had a stint on BBC’s EastEnders in 2023 portraying Jed, Sonia Fowler’s (Natalie Cassidy) lodger.

Amy and Bradley first crossed paths when Amy’s sister, Girls Aloud sensation Kimberley, invited Bradley to her 30th celebration whilst they were both performing in the West End version of Shrek.

Amy revealed to The Mirror: “She [Kimberley] got friendly with him and invited him along to her 30th birthday party. She did some expert matchmaking. She is always very protective with me, especially when it comes to boys, so to have her approval of him early on helped him out in a big way.”

The soap actress shared: “Before the party she told me, ‘There is someone going along tonight who might be interested in you’, so she planted the seed and it happened. We just hit it off, so it was thanks to her.”

Amy and Bradley started dating straight away and had been together for five years when he popped the question in August 2016.

At the time, Amy disclosed how Bradley proposed during a holiday to Thailand, describing how he’d “melted her heart” by filling their room with flowers and candles and playing a video montage of their relationship over the years whilst serenading her with a song.

She told OK! magazine: “It’s an amazing feeling. Everything feels more solidified between us. Thailand was the best holiday I’ve ever had.” When questioned if he was anxious about proposing, Bradley replied: “I actually wasn’t. I’ve never been more certain of anything.”

However, a year after their engagement, Amy and Bradley ended their relationship. Amy then began dating future husband and fellow soap actor Toby-Alexander Smith in 2020, and their relationship has flourished in recent years.
