Emmerdale viewers have spotted a significant error in a recent plot involving Bear. Paddy Kirk’s dad has been absent for weeks, with his family left in the dark until now.

However, the reality of the situation is far more grave. Bear finds himself entangled in modern slavery at Celia and Ray’s farm, where he, along with several others, are forced to work without pay, which is illegal.

He explained: “It’s something that you can slip into, and if you’ve been manipulated a certain way. And being a certain age as well, where maybe you do think that you’re useless and redundant, if someone convinces you that no, you are worth something, that you do have some kind of currency. Currency being the operative word.

“You can be somehow manipulated into a situation that you didn’t envisage seeing yourself in, in the first place. So it’s quite fascinating how these things actually do happen.”

Joshua, who portrays Bear, also shared insights into his preparation for this major storyline, reports the Mirror.

He revealed: “All I can do is be a very old-fashioned actor and read the script because I don’t hold with the method way of things. I didn’t lock myself away in a tent or hide in the countryside and try to scrabble along.

“No, I just read the scripts and used my imagination to put myself in the position of other people, who are in the real position. Basically it’s done by the auspices of the great researchers and the writers of the drama.”

However, in tonight’s episode, viewers found themselves distracted by a glaring error.

Ray received orders from mum Celia to humiliate Bear in front of the other captives after he shouldered the blame for the chicken-plucking mishap.

As Ray moved to strike Bear, fans were left baffled. One viewer questioned: “Come on bear, you just seen Ray didn’t have an impact on you, he hurt his hand. Take him down. Does no one visit that farm?”

A second chimed in: “I think that slap did more damage to Ray’s hand than Bear’s chin! Bear never flinched, being an ex wrestler and all #emmerdale,” whilst a third commented: “Call that a slap Ray? Can’t wait for Bear to get back to being himself. Ray won’t stand a chance.

“Bear was a wrestler back in the day why wouldn’t he just knock Ray out #Emmerdale,” a fourth questioned. With a fifth observing: “That looked like it hurt Ray more than it did Bear #emmerdale.”
