Emmerdale‘s Cain Dingle tells his whole family about his cancer diagnosis next week, after shocking his wife Moira with the news that his illness is much worse than she first believed. Will Cain now get the full support he needs after weeks of struggling in silence?

On Dr Liam Cavanagh’s advice, Cain musters up the courage to update Moira about what he’s been going through while she’s been in prison. Moira struggles to wrap her head around the fact that her husband has known about his diagnosis for a month – but ultimately urges him to break the news to young Kyle, Isaac and the rest of the Dingle family.

The week begins with Cain looking out over Butler’s Farm, knowing that he could be about to lose it all. Full of guilt, poor Cain can barely hold it together when Moira expresses how grateful she is that he’s keeping things under control while she’s behind bars.

Later, Cain feels overwhelmed by Joe Tate’s grip on him as his outstanding invoices pile up. Stressed, Cain confides in Sarah Sugden that Joe’s threat to send him to prison for the car thefts has left him in an impossible situation, leading Sarah to insist that Moira needs to know the truth.

As Cain’s only confidante, Sarah’s own relationship with Jacob Gallagher takes a hit as a result of the secrets she is keeping for her grandad. Belle soon notices that Sarah is acting out of sorts, but remaining loyal to Cain, Sarah doesn’t let her mask slip.

Meanwhile, Cain goes through a painful ordeal while urinating in the Woolpack toilets, and his mental suffering escalates even further when he notices blood in the toilet bowl. Picking up on how terrified Cain is, Dr Liam explains to his friend that it’s time he comes clean to his loved ones about his condition.

At his next prison visit, Cain bravely informs Moira about the aggressive nature of his cancer – and she’s shocked to realise that he’s been hiding this for a month. After urging him to bring the Dingles up to date, Moira is also left gutted by the latest news on Joe’s antics and her beloved farm. However, Moira remains strong for Cain and promises him that his health comes above all else.

As Cain realises that he needs to face his new reality, he begins the process of telling his loved ones about his condition. The Dingle family then gathers at the Woolpack to show their support for Cain. During the get together, Cain makes his way to the back room to finally break the news to Kyle and Isaac.

After Sam delivers a heartfelt speech that reminds his brother just how much his family adore him, Cain slips out on his own for some fresh air.
