Actor Danny joined the ITV soap back in 2008 and has been trusted with some major storylines as he took on the role of Aaron Dingle.
Over the last few months, Aaron has found himself centre stage in some of the biggest plot twists this year, mostly involving his newlywed husband, John Sugden.
Aaron is currently unaware that John accidentally killed Nate Robinson, and has also put the lives of several other villagers in danger.
In recent episodes, John brutally attacked Mackenzie Boyd after he discovered his link to Nate Robinson’s murder. Viewers were shocked that Mack made it out alive, but is currently being held captive by John in an underground bunker.
John found out that Aaron had a one-night stand with Robert before they left the village to stay in John’s childhood cottage, and since then his jealousy has been uncontrollable.
He drugged Aaron in order to feel “needed”, which caused Aaron to chase after John in the woods and became confused when he heard Mack’s voice.
Later on, clearly no longer trusting John the same way he once did, Aaron found a phone that John had left in his pocket.
Aaron decided to try and turn on the phone while John wasn’t there. To his surprise, it was Mack’s phone and his face was a picture as he tried to piece together everything he heard the day before.

During Monday’s (September 8) installment, Aaron rushed to find Mack, but ended up at the edge of a gorge. As John caught up to him, Robert Sugden then appeared – putting them both in danger as John was jealous over their affair.
Telling Aaron that if he can’t have him the no one can after calling the police and framing Robert, John threw himself and his newlywed husband off the edge.
Danny reacted to the clip on Emmerdale’s official Instagram account and gave an insight into the behind-the-scenes of shooting the terrifying cliffhanger.
Watching the scene where John tries to get Aaron to drink more water that he had spiked, Danny shared: “We couldn’t get through this me and Ollie. By the way, Ollie Farnworth who plays John Sugden is absolutely immense. He’s the nicest guy you’ll ever meet in your life and I don’t say that very lightly.
“He’s so good. ‘Good boy’ (laughs), that was a scene we couldn’t get through because it was just so patronising, but perfect for the story.”

As Robert arrived on the scene, Danny continued: “Brilliant, here he is, to ruin it! It’s amazing how much I can’t actually remember this… Oh no! Wow cue credits, what a beautiful shot. I’ve got goose bumps!”
Emmerdale airs on weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
