Emmerdale’s Natalie Robb reveals ‘intense’ moment for Moira and Cain amid ‘disturbing’ charge
The Moira Dingle star teased her upcoming drama in the Dales
Emmerdale star Natalie Robb touched on Moira Dingle’s time in prison and detailed her and Cain Dingle’s ‘intense’ scene together.
Actress Natalie Robb made her Emmerdale debut as Moira Dingle in 2009, where she was originally introduced as part of the Barton family who took over the running of Butlers farm.
Moira has not had the easiest few years after first being diagnosed with a non-cancerous meningioma brain tumour in September 2024. She was then left devastated when she learned that husband Cain Dingle had a one night stand with Ruby Miligan while she was in surgery.
As 2025 came, Moira faced financial struggles on the farm after John Sugden caused the slurry tank to leak, infecting the village’s water supply and causing her to pay a hefty fine.
She was then introduced to Celia Daniels who appeared to be a promising business partner, but instead her modern slavery and drug trafficking business soon came to light after her and son Ray Walters were killed.
In upcoming episodes, Moira and Cain are shocked to be arrested for murder in front of their children. At the Police Station, Cain remains tight-lipped throughout his interview. Throughout her interview, Moira maintains she was set up by Celia but is stunned when DS Walsh reveals that one of the bodies was Celia.
Moira begins to panic when she realises the sheer amount of evidence stacked against her. Cain is released without charge. However, after speaking to his solicitor, Caleb relays the devastating information that one of the bodies was shrouded in Moira’s blanket, causing a raging Cain to refuse to return home without his wife.

The ordeal culminates when DS Walsh reveals Moira’s DNA was found on the blanket Anya was buried in, and Moira is gobsmacked to be charged with both Celia and Anya’s murders.
Chas, Cain, and Caleb are devastated to see Moira being carted off to a police car as she tells Cain she’s been charged with double murder. Cain visits Moira in prison and when she enters sporting a black eye he is visibly thrown and anxious.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News and other press about her upcoming scenes, Natalie admitted: “It’s disturbing, it’s sad, a nightmare for her. But hopefully she’ll find a way out of it all in the end.”
She continued: “She’s gonna have to stick up for herself because when word spreads in prison that you’re a modern slaver, you’re gonna get people taking offence to that and she’s going to have to prove herself… I think you’re going to see the odd black eye and grazed knuckles.”
Touching on Cain hiding his prostate cancer diagnosis from her while she’s in prison, Natalie shared: “She doesn’t think he’s telling the whole picture, but she certainly doesn’t think it’s as bad as what it is.”
The actress added: “I don’t think she has any idea of how bad and serious his illness is.” Natalie continued: “The thing about this marriage between Moira and Cain, they fight on, they struggle on, but they get through things because they do it together.”
Natalie then teased a scene coming up between Moira and Cain, as she said: “There was a scene… It’s the longest scene I’ve ever shot in Emmerdale. I don’t know what it looks like but we managed to do it all the way through each time and it was intense.”
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
