Ever since Oliver Farnworth first set foot into Emmerdale as John Sugden, his villainous ways have escalated during his time in the village.
Earlier this year, Nate Robinson’s body was found after the lake was dredged due to the slurry tank incident on Butlers Farm. His loved ones were in shock, thinking that he had moved to Shetland for a fresh start.
As viewers will recall, it was John Sugden who accidentally murdered him, and he managed to pin the blame on Owen in a carefully crafted suicide note.
His newlywed husband, Aaron Dingle, suggested they start afresh in John’s childhood home, moving away from the village altogether.
However, Aaron was unaware that John was holding Mackenzie Boyd captive after he learned the truth about Nate.

Having drugged his newlywed husband and caught Mack for a second time, John was growing desperate.
When Aaron ran to find Mack after figuring out John’s secrets, he soon found himself listening to all of John’s confessions. As they stood before a gorge, Robert Sugden’s arrival sent John over the edge, literally.

He threw himself and Aaron off the cliff edge, framing Robert first by calling the police.
Oliver appeared on This Morning with soap expert Sharon Marshall ahead of Wednesday’s (September 10) installment of the ITV soap.
He admitted: “It’s an absolute gift this part. I came in with a complete backstory which is just really helpful because then you can decide how to make your choices.
“I came into the Sugden’s so that was a blessing as well.”
When asked if he can give any clues as to what’s going to happen next, Oliver teased: “All I’ll say is there’s more to come.”
Oliver then declared love for his on-screen husband Danny Miller. He continued: “I’m working with Danny Miller every day, so absolute legend. Love that guy.”

The actor then said: “The whole thing has been a kind of, really deep psychological trawl of what kind of a human is capable of. But what we’ve just seen, I mean that as an actor to be able to do… It’s like making a film.”
Emmerdale airs on weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
