Emmerdale’s Paddy gets bad news after calling the police
The truth of Bear’s (Joshua Richards) whereabouts in Emmerdale is about to be revealed, but Paddy (Dominic Brunt) will get some devastating news.
Bear left the village under a dark cloud, having put Eve at risk by leaving her alone with some pills, and having trashed his relationship with Paddy by branding him useless in an outburst. Paddy asked him to leave, and Bear agreed to head to Ireland to stay with friends.
Bear was clearly going through something major, but his behaviour was too much for his family and instead of seeking proper help, they turned their backs on him. While Bear had told them he’d leave to visit pal Gnasher, viewers recently saw that Bear never made it to Ireland.
Instead, he’s seemingly been living out of his car, and a huge standalone episode will reveal the reason Bear appears to be down on his luck.

Emotional scenes to come as Paddy is left worried
Paddy first became aware that all is not what it seemed when he received a package for his dad. He opened it, and it revealed to him that Bear had never reached his friend’s.
Paddy immediately panicked, then realised things were even worse than he first thought when he learned that not one of Bears’ friends had heard from him.
The penny dropped on Paddy that his dad was now a missing person.
Terrified for his vulnerable dad, Paddy does what any loving son would do and reports him to the police straight away. But as Paddy prepares to make a statement about his dad, he is hit with devastating news – Swirling dismisses his concerns and says they won’t be looking for Bear as he’s not at risk.
Mandy (Lisa Riley) vows to stick by him and work together to find Bear. Paddy decides to do his own investigation and reaches out to the car hire company that Bear used.
But this too deals him a painful blow – the company give little to no evidence of what happened to Bear and it’s a dead end. Paddy begins to wonder if perhaps Bear really did choose to just leave his family behind.
But Paddy’s decision to give up could have deadly consequences for Bear. The standalone episode will reveal just how bad things have been for Bear while he’s been gone.
He’s fallen on particularly hard times, but not only that – he’s found himself in quite a situation. Will Paddy be able to save him?
