General Hospital fans think a ‘who murdered Drew’ storyline would’ve been better

Fans took to social media to share their opinions on what they feel should be the current storyline around Drew. They think that instead of who shot Drew, it should have been a who murdered Drew storyline.

Everyone shared interesting thoughts on why they believe a murder storyline would have been a better fit, with some pointing out that it could have raised the stakes. A fan agreeing to this alternative premise said, “Exactly.” Another one expressing his dislike for the character wrote, “Hope he leaves for Washington after Willow goes to jail and never comes back!”

Disappointed by Drew’s stretched storyline, another fan wrote, “He was supposed to be gone many many months ago but they just keep dragging this storyline on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on.”

“I don’t like the Drew Character, but Cameron Matheson is playing That Part so well, he’s just hated by everybody. Hope He’ll be okay when he goes to other role. However, his character needs to leave GH!!” another fan added.

Earlier, there were rumors that Cameron Mathison’s Drew might be leaving General Hospital. However, in August 2025, he did address the rumors briefly. He took to Instagram to share a video about the father-daughter bond. A fan asked in the comment section whether the rumors about his GH departure are true, and if so, that he’ll be greatly missed. He responded to the comment with a “No.”

While the current storyline didn’t go as fans thought, it remains to be seen who turns out to be the shooter and what’s next for Drew on the show.
