General Hospital is in the middle of making plans to honor two of the soap’s most beloved legends.

Tristan Rogers (Robert) died last July after battling cancer, while Anthony Geary (Luke) died in December. Since then, General Hospital fans have been clamoring for details on tribute episodes honoring the beloved stars.

The Latest On General Hospital Honoring Anthony Geary

On New Year’s Day, the ABC soap reaired Geary’s final episode as Luke from back in 2015 when he retired. General Hospital also aired an In Memoriam card at the end of the January 7 episode to remember the late actor.

While some wondered if that was the only tribute to the star, that’s not the case. As Parade reported, Nathan Varni, ABC Current Programming Executive, used social media to let fans know that a montage in honor of Geary was coming.

Soap Opera Digest has confirmed that montage, which will also feature General Hospital stars remembering and honoring Geary, will air at the end of the Thursday, January 22 episode.

The outlet further reported that it won’t be the end of what’s in store for Geary, but it will take time to figure out what’s next.

General Hospital stars Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) and Steve Burton (Jason) also addressed the subject on a recent episode of their podcast, That’s Awesome with Steve and Bradford. They don’t know what the powers that be have in store, but they reassured fans that Geary would be honored appropriately.

All the talk about honoring Geary left some fans wondering what a tribute to Rogers.

Here’s What’s Happening With General Hospital’s Tribute to Tristan Rogers

One fan used social media to ask Varni what’s going on with giving Rogers a proper goodbye. It has, after all, been months since he died.

“Since the character hasn’t passed away on screen, writers are working on a story to weave into the show later in 2026 for a proper send off,” Varni wrote to the fan.

This coincides with the General Hospital 2026 preview, where co-head writers Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten teased a major traumatic event for the Scorpio family this year.

For those wondering why it’s taking so long, Anderson and Burton explained that Rogers, as well as Geary, deserve the right tribute. Much like when Leslie Charleson (Monica) died in January 2025, it was nine months before Monica died on-screen so that the right memorial could be written.

The good news for General Hospital fans is that tribute episodes are coming for Tristan Rogers and Anthony Geary, but fans won’t see them on-screen for a while.
