On The Record: Marco (Adrian Anchondo, l.) sat by Michael’s (Rory Gibson, l.) side as Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Anna (Finola Hughes) interrogated him.ABC

Since Diane was already representing Alexis, she sent Marco to be Michael’s counsel as he met with Dante and Anna at the PCPD. As he was officially questioned about his actions the night before, Michael shared that after hearing about Judge Heran’s death, he went to the Port Charles Grill to decompress and struck up a conversation at the bar with Jacinda Bracken, unaware at the time that she was the escort who’d been photographed with Drew several months ago. Anna mused that Michael and Jacinda must have really hit it off, since when Dante tracked him down earlier that evening, he was with Ms. Bracken for the second night in a row. “What can I say? I enjoyed her company,” Michael smirked.

Next, Michael explained that shortly after 10:30, he realized he’d left his phone in his car, and when he retrieved it, he had missed calls from Brook Lynn and Wiley, who’d had a nightmare. At that point, he headed home to the Quartermaines, Michael noted — but flashed back to getting into his car during the rainstorm and taking a deep, grounding breath. Returning to the present moment, Michael added that Jacinda could account for his whereabouts, then shared a look with Dante.

Next, Dante revealed that when he’d spoken with Drew about who might have shot him, Michael was the only person the congressman had named. Anna brought up the incident where Michael had allegedly assaulted Drew at the Metro Court, but Marco put an end to the question since there was no formal complaint. Her interview done, Anna informed Michael that he was free to go. “For now.”

After Michael and Marco left, Dante shared with Anna that he had concerns about Jacinda being his brother’s alibi. “You can pay an escort to be your company, why can’t you pay her to be your alibi?” Deciding that they needed to bring Jacinda in for questioning, Anna asserted they couldn’t yet rule Michael out as a suspect.

Once done at the PCPD, Marco and Michael headed to the Port Charles Grill. The attorney suggested setting up a meeting with Jacinda so they could get stories straight, but Michael said he’d reach out to her directly before entering the restaurant alone and heading to the bar.

Mother Knows Best

GH Laura Wright Alexa Havins
Family Values: Carly (Laura Wright, l.) gave cousin Lulu (Alexa Havins) some parenting advice.ABC

Inviting Carly over for a chat, Lulu filled her cousin in on Brennan’s request that she allow Charlotte to visit Valentin at Steinmauer. He even implied that not agreeing was a mistake because the teen might need WSB protection someday, Lulu added. Because her daughter had been depressed after being separated from Valentin when he initially went to prison, Lulu worried that allowing the visit would be a setback, so she hadn’t told Charlotte. Lulu said it was a relief when Valentin was sent to prison because he was far enough away from Charlotte that he wouldn’t further mess up her life. Carly urged her cousin to consider letting Charlotte make her own decision about the potential visit. However, Lulu felt the best thing for her daughter was to leave the past in the past and focus on the now. “I just don’t see any good coming from a visit with Valentin,” argued Lulu. “And no one can convince me otherwise.”

Let’s Make A Deal: Brennan (Chris McKenna) offered Nina (Cynthia Watros) a barter.ABC

Jack met with Nina at the Port Charles Grill, hoping she’d convince Lulu to agree to set up a meeting between Charlotte and Valentin. Nina didn’t want to get involved and be the reason a target was placed on the young girl’s back. When Nina claimed that Jack’s plea might have gone over better had he not needed a favor from Valentin, Brennan indicated that she and Willow might benefit as well if she assisted him. After all, he claimed, their alibi for the night of Drew’s shooting was flimsy. “You help me with Charlotte now, and the WSB will return the favor when you and your daughter are in need. And frankly, I think that day’s coming very soon,” he observed. Telling Nina to think it over and let him know what she decided, Jack left the restaurant… and Nina turned her attention to Michael, who was having a drink at the bar.

You’ve Got A Friend In Me: Emma (Braedyn Bruner, l.) offered herself as a backup bestie to Trina (Tabyana Ali).ABC

While at Bad Jen Café with Kai, Trina was relieved when he got a phone call from another of Drew’s aides telling him that the congressman was awake, but she then worried that Drew might place them at his house the night he was shot. Since Drew was still unaware that he had flipped sides, Kai went to the hospital to see if his boss suspected anything. Sitting alone at a table, Trina barely registered Emma’s arrival at the café, drawing concern from her friend. Treating Trina to tea, Emma sat down and offered a sympathetic ear since Josslyn was still out of town. When Trina confided that she felt like she was the reason her parents’ marriage was in trouble, Emma counseled that Trina wasn’t responsible for their happiness and only needed to worry about her own.

Over Before It Started

GH Sawandi Wilson and Brook Kerr
Fling Flung: Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) got the kiss-off from Portia (Brook Kerr).ABC

In Portia’s office, Isaiah commended her and Lucas for saving Drew’s life, but the chief of staff wished she’d never left Dr. Gannon’s bed that night. It was hard to feel good about the successful surgery, Portia stated, given all the horrible things Drew had done to people she cares about. Then, Portia added that she also wished she’d never left Isaiah’s bed since, between the chaos in her life and being his boss, whatever happened between them could never happen again. Agreeing to honor her decision and keep the affair between them, Isaiah told her, “If you ever change your mind, I’d be very interested in seeing where things could go between us.” Portia remarked that she would like that too, but the two of them weren’t the only ones a relationship would affect, and she couldn’t do that to Trina. To that, Isaiah claimed that he wouldn’t stop hoping things might change. As they shook on their friendship, Isaiah caressed Portia’s hand before exiting her office. Alone again, Portia looked pained.

Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell

GH Van Hansis and Rebecca Herbst
The Truth Hurts: Elizabeth’s (Rebecca Herbst) claim about his sister hit Lucas (Van Hansis) hard.ABC

Elsewhere at G.H., Lucas and Liz discussed the increased police presence since Drew woke up. Liz hoped to avoid being questioned since she had overheard Carly threaten to kill Drew, a revelation that left Lucas unsettled. He was sure his sister wasn’t the one who shot Drew. “Well, you may be sure, but I’m not. Your sister was livid,” she blurted. “She feels that Drew is a threat to Michael, Wiley, and Amelia. And we both know how far Carly will go to protect the people she loves.”

Meanwhile, at the hub, Willow revealed to Chase that she wasn’t sure if she still wanted to reconcile with Drew, but he was her best chance at regaining custody of Wiley and Amelia. Later, Elizabeth broke the news that Ric was out of town on a digital detox for the foreseeable future, leaving Willow without a lawyer. Between Ric’s absence and Judge Heran’s death, Willow was more convinced than ever that Drew was her last resort to beat Michael, even as Liz tried once again to persuade her otherwise. “As much as I hate Drew, if I want my kids back, I will need him by my side,” Willow insisted.

Level 2 Drama

GH Donnell Turner Cameron Mathison
Upper Hand: Curtis (Donnell Turner, l.) returned Drew’s (Cameron Mathison) veiled threat with one of his own.ABC

In Drew’s room, the victim accused Michael of shooting him, then pointed the finger at Curtis — even though he hadn’t actually seen the intruder. Despite Drew’s attempts to further manipulate him, Curtis gained the upper hand by pointing out that Drew was in a vulnerable position. “Someone tried to kill you. Who’s to say that they won’t come back and finish the job?” he mused. Upon Lucas’s arrival, Curtis left — but not before dropping a parting shot that he wouldn’t want Drew to do anything that would set back his recovery.

On his way out of the hospital, Curtis was cornered by Chase, who had questions regarding his whereabouts the night of the shooting. Curtis declined to say anything without having a lawyer present. Suspecting that Curtis might have something to hide, Chase called the desk sergeant to find out precisely what time Curtis had left the station the night before, following Stella’s arraignment.

Back in Drew’s room, Lucas examined the congressman to determine if there were any long-term effects from the location of the second bullet. Drew didn’t show any signs of paralysis, which Lucas said was a miracle thanks to Dr. Robinson. “The real miracle is that she didn’t let me die,” Drew quipped. Praising Portia’s expertise as a surgeon, Lucas contended that he wasn’t a fan of Drew’s, either, since Carly and Michael were his family. Declaring that his obligation as a physician didn’t extend to small talk, Lucas exited, leaving Drew alone.

Next, Kai showed up, trying to suss out whether Drew suspected that he’d been at the house the night of the shooting. Still believing his intern was loyal, Drew asked Kai to retrieve the contents from inside his safe. But Kai — suspecting Drew wanted the evidence against Portia that he had burned — claimed that he didn’t feel comfortable sneaking into the house since it was a crime scene, and eventually Drew dropped the subject.

After leaving Drew’s room, Kai found Willow and told her that Drew requested to see her. Once she got to his room, Willow drew the blinds. Standing up straight with her shoulders back, she stared at her ex-fiancé as he slept. Then, Drew woke up, and Willow readied herself to hear what he had to say.
