‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: After the Long Slow-Burn, GH Is Making a Huge Mistake Putting a Strain on Molly and Cody’s Relationship-Why Not Let These Two Crazy Kids Be Happy?
‘General Hospital’ spoilers suggest it’s frustrating to watch GH put a strain on Molly Lansing Davis (Kristen Vaganos) and Cody Bell’s (Josh Kelly) new relationship, especially after their long, drawn-out slow burn.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Molly and Cody Should Be Having Fun Together at this Point
It seems like the writers are creating forced drama between the couple instead of simply letting the characters have fun together, date, and be happy.
Personally, I am all about Molly and Cody’s relationship. It’s a lovely opposites-attract storyline that gives me romantic-comedy vibes.
Yet, for some reason, the writers are wasting a good opportunity to showcase their developing romance in favor of making up stupid sh*t for the sake of causing unnecessary issues.
So, Cody read Molly’s manuscript, which her sister, Kristina Corinthos Davis (Kate Mansi), had submitted to a publisher, and he discovered that the main character, Casey, was based on him.
The issue? Casey is portrayed in an unflattering light, and Cody took offense to it. Casey is a “dumb” stable hand who “thinks of books as decorations.”
Cody felt that Casey was meant to be a joke, and he believes now that Molly sees him that way as well. So, he took it personally and was very hurt.
Molly argued that the character evolves after falling madly in love with the novel’s heroine, Maddie, who was obviously based on Molly.
She also told him that Maddie had seen Casey the wrong way at first but had come to realize how wonderful he was. Molly tried to explain that the book was written before they were on good terms.
Additionally, the sweet pair have already been hindered by countless interruptions and oddly shy behavior that prolonged their slow-burn.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: The Writers are Manufacturing Forced Conflict
It seems the writers are trying to manufacture forced conflict between Molly and Cody rather than letting their relationship develop naturally.
The soap needs a couple like Cody and Molly right now. The lighthearted energy that they cultivated has somehow been replaced by inorganic tension.
Molly and Cody are an adorable, promising couple, and it’s incredibly pointless to create issues at this early stage in their relationship.
Molly and Cody have so much potential, but some fans are already giving up, saying that there seems to be this constant nonsense between them.
Truthfully, I can’t really blame viewers. Soap fans these days are very impatient and sometimes can’t get on board with the back-and-forth of an endless slow burn.
Not to mention, it also seems like GH always makes these half-hearted, feeble attempts to give Cody an actual love interest, but then the story either changes course or is altogether abandoned.
They never give Cody the happiness he deserves. Again, it’s incredibly frustrating to watch. My hope is that enough fans complain and let the writers know that Molly and Cody deserve this love story.
Cody has never fully found love, and Molly was stuck in a boring relationship with T.J. Ashford (Tajh Bellow) for literally decades.
Plus, Molly is much more fun with Cody. With Cody, Molly lets her hair down and can be herself.
Cody and Molly are a new couple, and the writers need to be pumping up the romance rather than relying on clearly artificial drama to drive what will inevitably become a disappointing outcome.
