Kirsten Storms says fans could see Maxie in General Hospital soon

Kirsten Storms has been away from General Hospital since August. On the show, Maxie Jones fell into a coma after Sidwell poisoned her, and doctors sent her to a care facility in Boston. Off-screen, Storms stepped away to focus on her health and her family.

A few months ago, Storms revealed that she took time off while moving from Los Angeles to Nashville with her daughter, Harper. At that time, she said she had finished filming for the year and did not expect to return until 2026.

Later, Storms shared the medical reason behind her move. Doctors found an aneurysm in her brain after she reported new symptoms. She previously had brain surgery in 2021 to remove noncancerous cysts, and the new diagnosis made her decide to reduce stress and make changes in her life.

In October, Storms revealed that doctors discussed a possible coiling procedure to prevent the aneurysm from rupturing. She said the move helped her physical health, mental health, and overall happiness.

A few days ago, Storms shared another update on Instagram. She said a new neurosurgeon placed her in a “gray zone.” The aneurysm does not require immediate surgery, and doctors believe she is not in immediate danger. For now, she can continue monitoring it.

She said she appreciates the support from fans and is still deciding her next steps. She ended her message by wishing everyone happy holidays and teasing that fans may see her back in Port Charles soon.

Maxie’s absence has changed several storylines on General Hospital. Nathan West and Britt Westbourne have returned, while Spinelli continues to wait and hope Maxie wakes up. Nathan has also started bonding with his son, James, and spending time with Lulu, setting up plenty of drama when Maxie wakes up.
