‘General Hospital’s Ryan Paevey Addresses Maxie’s Return After Kirsten Storms’ Health Update

General Hospital star Ryan Paevey (Nathan) has weighed in on Kirsten Storms’ return as Maxie to the hit ABC soap.

As Parade reported, Storms recently shared a health up and hinted that General Hospital fans may see her back in Port Charles soon. After her update, Paevey gave one of his own on the hot topic.

“We don’t know when Maxie’s returning. But I know Kirsten loves this place, and I would like very much to see her back in her happy place,” the actor revealed to Woman’s World.

Paevey’s brutal honesty means General Hospital fans will be waiting longer to see Nathan and Maxie reunite. The actor is anxious to see what happens when Maxie returns to Port Charles.

“From a canvas standpoint, I’ll be interested to see what it does to our… situation. Things have been set into motion that could clash with her return, shall we say. I will be curious to see how these things evolve and how serious they get,” he stated.

Maxie has been in a coma for months following a health crisis in order to allow Storms to take a break from the show for her own medical situation.

On the screen, it’s been months since Maxie fell into a coma. During that time, one of her great loves, Nathan, returned from the dead after seven years, and Maxie has no idea.

Nathan having a life outside of being just one part of Naxie has been a nice change of pace for Paevey.

“To be untethered to that and get to navigate the full GH canvas, work with new people and characters, and do things I’ve not done before is interesting,” Paevey expressed.

That’s not to say he isn’t here for a Naxie reunion, but for now, Paevey’s enjoying working with other actors on the ABC soap. The actor gave major props to his General Hospital co-stars, saying, “They’re all great actors. GH has a spectacular cast.”

Paevey has weighed in on Storms’ return to General Hospital as fans wait for a Nathan and Maxie reunion. It may not be the answer fans hoped for, but in the meantime, the actor did tease to Woman’s World that there are juicy things in store for Nathan in 2026, so keep watching.

General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC.
