‘Humanity and Vulnerability’: How B&B’s Christian Weissmann Plans to Tackle Remy’s Story
The Bold and the Beautiful made history by featuring its first gay male couple. Remy introduced Luna to his boyfriend, Deke, played by Harrison Cone. Fans initially got to know Remy as a villain. Christian Weissmann shared how he plans to portray Remy’s storyline.
Remy Gets a Redemption Arc
Soap Hub predicted whether Remy would get a redemption arc, and we were right. In an interview with Out, Weissmann explained how his on-screen alter ego’s story would change. On Tuesday’s episode, Remy explained to Luna (Lisa Yamada) that he was in the closet.
He tried to convince himself that he should have a future with Electra (Laneya Grace). But he’s given himself the grace to be himself. Weismann has high hopes for “Remy’s redemption arc.”
However, he still wants his character “to take accountability” for his actions. “Remy has been a bit of a bad boy in the past few storylines — he’s done some not-so-great things. I was like, ‘How do I approach this with humanity? How do I show that he really is this kid who has a lot of trauma, and a lot of issues, and is lashing out because of his lack of healing?’”

A Balancing Act
While Remy’s storyline is groundbreaking for B&B, Weissmann isn’t taking it lightly. He plans to portray his character with honesty and dignity. “None of that justifies the actions and the things he did in the past,” Weissmann explained.
“But, as an actor, it gives me a baseline. I tried to inject as much humanity and vulnerability as I could.” Also, in the interview, Cone shared his reaction to the storyline. He couldn’t spill details about his on-screen persona. (Could B&B’s Deke be Deacon’s son?)
But he hopes that the fans will warm up to him. “He’s very loving, and caring, and kind of a ‘daddy,’ in a way. He kind of fathers people, and he means well. He means the best for everyone,” Cone teased.
