Kirsten Storms Opens Up About Health and Possible GH Return

General Hospital star Kirsten Storms is once again keeping fans informed about her health, sharing a candid update on social media during the holiday season.

The longtime daytime actress shared the update on Instagram, opening her post with a warm holiday message to fans: “Seasons Greetings, my insta-friends!❤️”

Storms went on to reflect on the winter weather, writing, “I hope everyone is enjoying the winter break with their family and loved ones. Although the cold weather has been met with a lot of complaining from me (to anyone around me), I’m kinda LOVING it.”

The Florida native also shared her excitement over seeing snow flurries first time of the season, “I definitely freaked out at the sight of some *very small* snow flurries…that melted as soon as they touched…anything. Couldn’t get the smile off my face in that moment if I tried. 😁 (Don’t judge, I was born in Florida and moved to California).”

Storms then addressed her health directly, explaining that she wanted to update fans who have followed her medical journey. “OKAY… I’ve received a lot of social media support on this subject, so I want to give an update on my medical situation,” she wrote.

GH's Kirsten Storms May Have A New Career

According to Storms, her most recent appointment provided some results, “My last appointment was with a new Neurosurgeon in St Louis. He told me that I am in the “gray zone” for the aneurysm procedure. It’s not super small, but it’s not at the mandatory surgery size. Basically, I can keep monitoring it – or have the coiling done, BUT he told me I wasn’t in immediate/“OMG! it’s going to burst tomorrow!” kind of danger.”

While the news was reassuring, Storms acknowledged that deciding whether to proceed with surgery remains a complicated decision, “Obvi, great news. 💁🏼‍♀️ Trying to see if I’m comfortable with the “wait and see if it gets worse” plan. I do know that I am not eager to hop right on the operating table. (Plz refer to my post in 2021, following my craniotomy. The pic of the back of my head will *possibly* convey why this topic is a little difficult for me to openly discuss. And of course there was that surgery back in Jan this year 🙅🏼‍♀️).”

She also expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support from fans, “So, as I sit in this “gray zone”, pondering my plan, I want you guys to know that I really do appreciate the messages and stories offered of your own experiences. I needed those….and I had no idea (weird how that works, right?). Super easy to be silly and have fun on these platforms, but getting deep about online rumors and my feelings about them? Hah….i’d rather switch to decaf coffee. (My psychologist would tell me that’s a clear example of “avoidance”.) Welp I’m out of jokes, so I’m gonna say 🎄HAPPY HOLIDAYS 🎄”

Before signing off, Storms hinted that fans may soon see her reprise her role as Maxie Jones on General Hospital, teasing ”and maaaaybe you will be seeing me back in Port Charles soon. ✨🎅🏼✨”

General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC and streams weeknights on Hulu.
