From the moment we heard Erika Slezak was joining General Hospital, we knew daytime TV was in for a treat. And her debut as Ronnie Bard in the Quartermaine family crypt only confirmed it — this soap veteran was back, and she was here to make an impact.

After a month of consecutive standout performances, Slezak has been named Soap Opera News Star of the Month for October 2025, and fans clearly agree. She claimed the top spot in our recent poll with 23.42%
of the votes.

Slezak, one of the longest-serving actors in American daytime television, made her GH debut on September 26 and was immediately thrust into the thick of it.

Arriving in Port Charles as the sister of the recently deceased Monica Quartermaine, Ronnie’s very presence sparked tension, starting with a fiery encounter with Tracy right in the family crypt.

The drama continued as Ronnie attended Monica’s will reading — where she unexpectedly inherited the Quartermaine mansion. Tracy was furious, and the two women found themselves in constant verbal battles.

But October revealed an even bigger twist: Ronnie was secretly working with Martin Grey. Though she wanted out of their scheme, Martin threatened her, forcing her to sell the mansion to Drew Cain. This move only infuriated Tracy and the rest of the Quartermaine clan even more.

However, throughout it all, Erika Slezak was on fire. Her powerhouse performances had the soap community buzzing on social media, proving just how much she’s missed in the daytime genre. Though her run was short, it was nothing short of unforgettable, and we’re keeping our fingers crossed we’ll see her back on our screens soon.

After all, Slezak has a legacy few can touch. For her portrayal of Victoria “Viki” Lord on One Life to Live — a role she played from 1971 through 2012 and in the 2013 online revival — she won six Daytime Emmy Awards, the most of any daytime drama actress.
