‘The Young and the Restless’ Icon Makes Bold Claim About Co-Star Roger Howarth

The Young and the Restless icon Joshua Morrow (Nick) has worked with his fair share of actors and actresses during his over 30 years on the CBS soap.

Morrow has been in scenes with soap legends like Eric Braeden (Victor), Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki), Peter Bergman (Jack), and Christian Le Blanc (Michael), just to name a few, over his three decades on the show.

However, it’s one of his newer co-stars that Morrow is gushing over and making a bold statement about. Roger Howarth recently joined The Young and the Restless as Nick and Sharon’s (Sharon Case) long-time enemy, Matt Clark.

The role of Matt was previously played by Eddie Cibrian and General Hospital star Rick Hearst. Howarth has put his own take on evil Matt, which turns out has made quite the impact on Morrow.

“Roger Howarth has this ability to, he’s making me, Joshua, not Nick, feel sorry for Matt. I have never once, as Nick, felt sorry for the character of Matt Clark. And what Roger has done is he’s, it’s like, I want to know more about Matt,” Morrow revealed to Soaps.

The Young and the Restless star made it clear his feeling sorry for the character was all about Howarth’s work and not the character. Morrow went on to try to explain his appreciation and admiration for his co-star with a tease of upcoming scenes between Matt and Nick.

“It’s one of my favorite scenes I’ve ever done on this show, because what Roger does with this, you know, psychopath, he makes him human. And again, I felt sorry for him in these moments. There’s a myriad of things washing over his face that aren’t just evil, evil, evil. There’s just a whole mess to this dude. And it’s just a fascinating take, man. I couldn’t be a bigger fan of Roger Howarth right now,” the soap star expressed.

Morrow’s words are not a surprise to those who have watched Howarth on General Hospital, One Life to Live, and As the World Turns. Howarth is outstanding and a soap icon in his own right.
