Today is the day “Lope” fans have been waiting for… The Bold & Beautiful couple is getting ready to said their “I dos” once again, and Douglas is back front and center to watch it go down. However, will his mom’s marriage continue down the road to a happily ever after, or will Douglas make sure the road in question is a rocky one?

How Did Douglas Become Hope’s Son?

For those who don’t remember, Hope stepped in as a mother figure for Douglas after Caroline died suddenly from a blood clot — and she sealed the deal by adopting him as her own. Even though she and Thomas shared joint custody for a time, over the years, Thomas lost it, then regained it and has been living with his son in Paris.

One might wonder why Douglas would want to put a damper on his mom’s not-so-new relationship, but as many who come from a divorced family know, kids almost always want their parents to get back together — and that would mean Liam would be left out in the cold if Douglas arranged for Thomas to make his way back into Hope’s orbit.

What If Douglas *Doesn’t* Parent-Trap Thomas and Hope?

But wait… what if Douglas remains the best son ever by accepting his new stepfather — again — and being supportive of his mom and Liam’s marriage… will they still live happily ever after? Maybe not… maybe Douglas won’t be the problem after all. It’s no secret that Liam is no fan of Thomas’ and he’s been known to hate the fact that the Forrester heir has remained in Hope’s life. So… could Liam end up resenting Douglas for just that? Stranger things have happened.
