During an earnings call with the streaming platform’s chief executive, as reported by Show Snob, multiple programmes were confirmed to be making their comeback in 2026.
This encompasses the beloved period romance Bridgerton, the celebrity-packed sequel to breakout success Beef, and another wild instalment of Guy Ritchie’s criminal romp The Gentlemen.
Nevertheless, whilst numerous supporters were hoping for fresh episodes of Virgin River before year’s end, it appears they’ll be left waiting for several more months.
The sixth series concluded with another shocking revelation for Mel Monroe (portrayed by Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson), as Jack’s ex-girlfriend Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley) vanished and one of Mel’s clients issued a surprising ultimatum, reports the Mirror.
Duringthe recent discussion, Sarandos revealed: “I wanted to give you a little bit of colour into 2026.
“We’re really particularly excited about a few things coming up next year like the returns of some of our biggest and most beloved shows like Bridgerton, Beef, Emily in Paris, One Piece, Outer Banks, Virgin River, The Gentlemen, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Running Point, Ginny and Georgia, Lupin, all coming back for new seasons in 2026.”

Given that filming for Virgin River’s seventh series wrapped up in June this year, it’s expected to debut during the opening months of 2026. A December launch remains a slim possibility, given that Sarandos referenced the beloved Lily Collins series Emily in Paris as making a comeback next year, despite season five being slated for 18th December 2025.
There’s also the potential for another surprise festive offering, similar to the two-part special that thrilled audiences in November 2023.
Nevertheless, it appears more probable that Virgin River will be pushed back to next year, as viewers have received no further updates until this point.
Netflix’s recent announcement follows comments from series star Breckenridge, who also hinted at a 2026 debut for the upcoming season during a chat with Entertainment Weekly.

“There is a lot going on this year for Netflix,” she explained. “If I was an intelligent person, guessing, I would say I wouldn’t roll Virgin River out until the new year.”
