‘Virgin River’s Annette O’Toole, 73, Exudes Rockstar Energy in Ageless Appearance With Husband

The actress joined her husband, Michael McKean, for the ‘Spinal Tap’ sequel premiere.

Virgin River’s Annette O’Toole turned heads during a rare red carpet appearance.

The actress, known for playing Hope McCrea on the hit Netflix series gearing up for its seventh season, stepped out for the premiere of Spinal Tap II: The End Continues at The Egyptian Theatre Hollywood on Sept. 09, in Los Angeles, California.

O’Toole was joined by her husband, Michael McKean, for the fashionable outing, during which she exuded major rockstar energy.

The 73-year-old actress donned a black and white print dress with a plunging neckline, which she paired with thigh-high brown boots. She opted for a reddish-orange lip color, with her naturally gray hair tousled, a stark departure from the fashion viewers are used to seeing on-screen from her character in the small-town drama.

The following day, O’Toole relived the event by sharing a loved-up snap with her husband on Instagram, captioning the post: “What a wonderful night. #Spinal Tap.”

Fans Couldn’t Get Enough of O’Toole and McKean’s Night Out

Comments from fans complimented the couple’s lasting marriage, along with O’Toole’s vibrant and ageless appearance.

“Stunning couple, wow the amazing difference from Virgin River 20 years younger and so beautiful” one fan raved, as another noted, “You and Michael make a lovely couple! I am glad you had a wonderful night out. Love you 🥰🥰🥰.”

“What is it like not to grow old? You look magnificent ❤️❤️” someone else gushed, with others tapping in to state, “Such a nice pic, and you look so pretty.” and “What a Beautiful pair 😍😍😍.”

“You lucked out, Mike!!” another fan declared.

O’Toole and McKean’s friendship dates back to the 1970s, as they met on Laverne & Shirley, though they weren’t romantically invovled until they reconnected on the 1988 Lifetime movie, Final Justice. They’ve been married for 26 years.

The duo was previously spotted during a rare public outing in August, where they held hands while on a shopping date.

Spinal Tap’s Long-Awaited Return

McKean starred in 1984’s rockumentary This Is Spinal Tap as David St. Hubbins, which centered on a metal band struggling to get back on the charts.

Forty-one years after the classic, Spinal Tap II: The End Continues reunites director Rob Reiner with McKean and original stars, Christopher Guest (Nigel Tufnel) and Harry Shearer (Derek Smalls), as they reprise their roles in the highly anticipated sequel. The now-estranged band members are searching for a drummer and preparing for a reunion concert in the film, which hits theaters on Sept. 12.

In anticipation, the iconic band reunited on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to play the beloved tune, “Big Bottom,” performing on TV for the first time in 15 years.
